New Xbox One S - Controller problems?

    Anyone else experiencing this?

I bought a new Xbox One 2 console on Sunday 9/18. Occasionally when the display goes dim and I attempt to wake it up by pressing a button or moving a stick, the console either doesn't respond or there's significant (1 second+) lag before the console responds.
The console is on top of my entertainment center (about 5.5 feet off the ground) and I play from my couch which is less than 5 feet from the entertainment center.

    Thanks.

    :)

  2. Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

  3. Xbox One Wireless controller on Windows 10 PC

So it's not a new xbox one controller, since 2016 with the xbox one s, the xbox controller has the Bluetooth connection. Btw, is your controller official ?

If the controller goes back to normal (non-laggy) responsiveness after the console wakes, there's probably nothing to worry about. The delay is likely the controller and console reinitializing the wireless connection once the console goes back into active
    use.

When the screen dims after the console hasn't received any input, it will eventually turn off the controller to save batteries. The controller will need a second to re-sync once you get back on.

That doesn't seem to be the issue. Today I was playing Star Wars Battlefront and received the "Please Reconnect Controller" message three times. One time it seemed to reconnect by itself, but the other two times I had to remove and reinsert the batteries
(which are fresh, by the way).

I'm sort of having this issue too... last night it was constant throughout playing Warframe.

New Xbox One S - Controller problems?

    Hey guys -

Couple things come to mind. Do you have a lot of other wireless devices that could be causing some interference near your Xbox One console? Such as cell phones, laptops, etc. If so, try disconnecting those from your network to see if that helps. Additionally,
if you plug in your controller via USB, do you continue to experience the same issue?

Let us know! New Xbox One S - Controller problems? :)

I have my WiFi router near-ish, as well as a laptop, iPad, and Kindle in the same room. I'm a wee bit dismayed, however, since none of this equipment ever seemed to interfere with my wireless X360 controllers. I take it the X1 controllers use a different
    communications protocol or something?

I am having the same lag issues with my X1 controllers, but the same issues happened when I'd connect directly with USB. Not sure if that really would have made a difference. This Xbox is near all my wireless stuff, but I'm really not sure why this should
be an issue. Are you saying there are actual untested bandwidth issues only with the the Xbox One?

Still having problems. Tonight I fired up the console, and when I was greeted with the "it's time to update" screen, my button pushes and stick movements wouldn't register. Had to remove batteries and reinstall them to get the controller to respond.

This is really aggravating, since I love everything else about the system.

xbox series s headset volume way too low

So to make this even more confusing to figure out. I just dug out my old xbox one s, fired it up and tested all the controller on
it. The old ones still work fine. The black one that came with the new xbox series x works fine. The new style white controller that come with the new xbox series s and the new style black controller bought today from best buy BOTH have the headset low volume
problem on my old xbox one s. Totally confused at this point.
