    New Xbox One S Controller asking for Bluetooth passcode


    Hello everyone,

    I got one of the new custom Xbox controllers through the design lab. When I attempt to pair it to my Windows 10 desktop, it requests a passcode...which is not normal. I tried the old "0000" code, but it didn't work. I was able to pair it to a laptop just
    fine earlier without the need for a passcode. I am running Windows 10 version 1607. Any advice or troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.

    Ok, so i just tried on one laptop with WIN 10 same version as i have on my PC and it works fine, without asking any passcode, laptop has build in bluetooth, on my PC im using bluetooth dongle, does have this new controller problems with BT dongles? it just
    working with build in bluetooth ? im waiting for new dongle to try it out im really curious,

    Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

    There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

    The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

    The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

    The Elite controller does not have Bluetooth.

    Only the new revision of the regular Xbox One controller (released with Xbox One S systems) has a Bluetooth radio built-in.

    The Xbox One console doesn't support Bluetooth. That headset won't work with the Xbox One in any way.

    The new Xbox One controllers (the ones that come with the Xbox One S) have Bluetooth, but that's only used to connect the controller to a Windows 10 PC through Bluetooth.

    As far as i know the Xbox One (S) doesn't have Bluetooth. The new controllers having Bluetooth tech is for connecting to a PC.
