New xbox one Random controller disconnections?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any issues with the xbox one controller randomly disconnecting,,it's not happening a lot,but say in a 3-4 hour session about 5-6 times.

I know its going to do it as my character becomes hard to control then it will pop up on screen reconnect controller.

I have tried a few different batteries (all brand new)

Moved the console to a different location.

Looked for updates (all up to date)

I may have to contact the store I bought it from if there is no easy fix and get the money back as they have no stock at the moment.

The annoying thing is it will do it right during an online match like in call of duty.

XBOX one controller won't connect. I've tried everything.

Because the NXE Update? I have also the Halo 5 Xbox One and the issue with random disconnects starts after the NXE Update on Nov 12. My old controller is working, my new halo controller isn't (disconnected every 30-45 min)

 

Random Controller Disconnects

My XBO controller keeps disconnecting at random points while playing and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I have the standard controller (the new one) and a One X Scorpio Day One Console. I have tried moving and resetting the console and have tried two
new controllers. No luck. Any ideas?

 

My controller do that a few times but not enough that I find it annoying. You could try resyncing it maybe.

 

I was told that unlike the 360, the connection between an X1 console and the controller is via wifi.

You could try making sure their is nothing between you and the console, or setting a bit closer to the console, or simply put the console on a lower shelf.

Some say that moving your nets wifi further away from the console can also help.

 

If memory serves, the band that the controller uses is near the 5GHZ range. If your router is on that range, it is possible for it to "overpower" the controller in some cases. I have to wonder if that may not be a contributing factor at least... since you
say it happens often while playing CoD online... but that would also depend upon whether or not your Xbox is on the router's wireless network.

In any case, moving your router away from the console, if it's close or between the console and controller when you play, is worth trying. Also, it may be a factor if there are a lot of devices that use the 5GHZ range sitting close to your Xbox as well.
Cordless phone bases are the only thing I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there are other commonly used devices as well.

 

Ya my controller is doing same thing and its hooked wired with cord it came with, so far only notise when playing ms games

 

Microsoft games have same prob. Gears of war

Just to add I am sat about 7 feet from the console and there is no 5ghz band on my router only 2.4ghz

Doing a little read around the net and found there is a few people reporting the same issue and having to send the console in for repair.

I will move the console again to a different location and try it again.

It's so random that I cannot replicate it at all.Don't want to have to send the console back really.

 

Only other things I can think of ATM would be to make sure the controller is assigned to your profile, which you likely saw the "controller" labeled tile in your settings. It probably is... but if someone else originally turned on and set up the console
with a different profile, then the console would assign the controller to that person. I've heard that can sometimes cause random disconnects.

I believe that others have reported the Kinect can sometimes cause problems with disconnects as well, maybe because it suddenly fails to recognize the person using the controller. They've said turning off the Kinect has fixed the problem. Maybe just turning
off the option to have Kinect sign you in automatically would do the trick, I don't know.

Of course, if you didn't get the Kinect version that won't help... not to mention if it is a new Xbox, you might be better off to do a return to the retailer anyway. At least if you have to get it replaced, the setup of the next one won't take quite as long
since a lot of your settings and preferences will be stored in the cloud and should apply to your new Xbox automatically.
