    New Xbox One Power Supply

    Hi Guys,

I've recently moved to Canada from Ireland and have brought my Xbox One with me. However, I didn't bring the power supply as I knew it wouldn't work over here as it isn't suitable for a different voltage. I have been trying to purchase a new power supply
online however it is only allowing me to use a Credit Card as a payment option. I have a Canadian debit card and a Canadian PayPal account added to my Microsoft and Xbox Live account but neither will show up as an option on purchase.

Does anyone know a way around this? All I'd like to do is play my 'region free' Xbox as I should be able. I have called customer support but they were no help at all stating that they wouldn't issue a Canadian power supply to an Irish bought Xbox which makes
no sense and defeats the purpose of the device being 'region free'.

Cheers in advance New Xbox One Power Supply :)

    Tony

    :)

Can I use my Xbox One (US) in Norway which has a 220V input

    Hi

If it is the original Xbox One with the separate
    power supply
then you will need to obtain a new power supply suitable for use in the US. If your console is one of the newer Xbox One S or Xbox One X consoles then all you will need to do is obtain a new power cable.

    New Xbox One Power Supply

The xbox one console is indeed region free, it means there are no virtual region locks for gaming, yet there is a difference in the voltage among consoles produced for EU and those used in US and Canada.

The customer support agents are right to give that information because a console made for EU will not last in US/Canada no matter what kind of adapter you use (actually you are advised to not use them at all)

    Hi,

Thanks for replying. The issue is what I am after is not an adapter at all. This is why I have never brought my original power supply in the first place. The whole point in the power brick is that it will convert the input voltage from whatever country you
are in into what is needed to run the Xbox. In the EU mine is 220-240V and therefore not suitable to plug into a wall over here as it would damage the console/power supply itself. While I understand that the games are region free, so is the console once it
has the correct power supply for the region you are using it. Microsoft have confirmed this themselves.

All I am after as such is an easy way for them to provide me with a Canadian power supply as I am reluctant to buy a 3rd party alternative. Any help would be much appreciated New Xbox One Power Supply :)

Actually Microsoft has warned you against the use of xbox one consoles in other regions that have different power requirements:

    support.xbox.com/.../about-power-supply

PSUs are designed to be used only in the regions where they are sold.

Don't try to use an Xbox One PSU that was built for a region that has different power requirements.

Don't use an unlicensed accessory, such as a non-Microsoft replacement PSU, or any accessory that plugs in between the console and the PSU.

Don't use the Xbox One external PSU outside the country where it was sold. If you use the PSU in a different country, it or your console may be damaged, and the warranty may be invalidated.

Okay so it seems you have misunderstood. I am not trying to use a PSU in a region that has different power requirements. My entire question stems from the fact that I know that I cannot do this. I am simply trying to purchase a new PSU that is correct for
the region I am now in. If you read through the link that you have posted you will see that that is exactly what they are trying to stop people doing (i.e. plugging a US power supply which is 100-127V into an EU outlet [220-240V] via an adapter will fry the
    unit due to excess voltage).

All 3 different power supply units that are issued with Xboxs around the world have the same output but vary in input specifications.

I do appreciate you taking the time to reply however all I'm looking for is help on the question I have actually asked.

    New Xbox One Power Supply

Cuban Tae makes perfect sense. He clearly understands that you can use the Xbox in a different region provided the correct power supply for that region is used. The output power from the brick (input DC Wattage required to run Xbox one) is 114.8W no matter
where you buy your Xbox. By getting the correct power supply for the region he is using the Xbox in, he is ensuring he doesn't damage the Xbox by ensuring the correct power is delivered to the Xbox.

I've another friend with the same problem! This should be a really straightforward one to fix over the phone if Microsoft would actually be helpful! I mean... MICROSOFT WE ARE TRYING TO GIVE YOU MONEY! Stop forcing people to buy voltage transformers.

Looks like the power supply has blown

Have them bring the power supply over and test the new power supply on your sons console.
That would be good advice for someone with an OG Xbox One, but he has an Xbox One S which has an internal power supply.
