New Xbox one Kinectless (Idle dashboard Coil Whine)

Hello, I purchased a new XBOX ONE 500gb (Kinectless) from GAME UK

I set everything up and everything was working fine, I installed the update and let everything set up as instructed.

After around 2 hours I could hear a very high pitched coil noise from the machine coming from inside. I know for a fact it isn't the HDD working or the FAN because I can tell those sounds apart. If I play a game the sound goes away, but when I am just sat on
the dashboard doing nothing it starts to make the noise.

I went back to game and explained the situation and they replaced the machine (Only) with a brand new one. So I got back home and set this one up, after installing the updates and everything this one also makes the same noise.

I don't understand why it has this static coil whine noise when idle and not when gaming

It really is ruining the experience for me.

Post october update noise

I have 2 Xbox One's, the forst is Kinectless version, second is Titanfall bundle with Kinect, both with coil whine pre-update (secon unit less severe). After update, coil whine is gone on the kinectless unit, but still the same on Titanfall bundle. However,
the kinectless One got the horrible disc drive noise, same as DimaK67. Noise will gone after 20 minutes , but is very irritating, specially with Blu-ray discs.

coil whine with latest update

The latest system update from 8/5/2016 has introduced coil whine to my xbox one. Coil whine is a buzzing sound that can be heard from across the room, but only when the system is idle, for example at the home screen. It goes away when the system is being
stressed, for example playing a game. It is also present in instant on mode. This coil whine was not there before the update. From what I have read an update long ago fixed coil whine for many. This most recent update has reintroduced it.

Just spoke with a chat rep, it appears there is no fix unless you send in your xbox for a $135.00 repair fee. This is assuming you are out of your one year warranty. They told me to put it in power saving mode and plug it directly into an outlet, this helps
with making the whine go away after you shut it off ( it still takes a few mins for it to stop).

I bought the bundle forza/fifa kinectless xbone, and got coil whine.

I just returned mine to the online shop I bougth it. Have to wait a couple of days for a new one.

The support guy did not expect me to get the bundle again with forza/fifa, as they where sold out.

So I would get a non-bundle kinectless.

I don't know if the coil whine is more frequent for the bundles,

Might be agood thing I don't get the bundle this time, I will tell if no bundle is better.

Strangest thing about this is that it is mostly a issue when the xbox is idle at the dashboard but goes away when playing a game, It's like some kind of low power kinda thing, or is it when the HDD parks. Or is it some kind of coil whine, or maybe a wireless
noise?
