    New Xbox One keeps updating upon initial startup


    Just a few hours ago I set up my new Xbox One and went through the first few steps easily. Once I got to the update screen is where my problems started to occur. Every time I update my Xbox it and after it applies the update the Xbox turns off and I have
    to turn it back on manually. Then it says that I need to update my Xbox again. I've gone through this several times already, unplugging my Xbox and waiting and re-choosing my network and everything, and still nothing. I am getting very frustrated and I'm assuming
    what I need to do is reset my Xbox to factory settings, which I'm not sure how to do without access to any system features besides the set-up screen.

    Whatever Microsoft instructs us to do upon initial startup. If nothing, then, Shall we play a game?

    Error on initial set up- problem with update

    new Xbox. Initial set up downloaded update ok then when updating error message keeps popping up " check network connection". I cannot access menu settings from controller. wifi download went fine so not sure what connection issue is

    Xbox One X will not update on initial startup.

    ANSWER: After fiddling around for a little while, I was able to bring up the screen to factory reset the console, which I did and that seemed to help because I was able to start the update. If anyone else has the same issue, that might be the fix to it.

    Xbox One Initial Startup Update Error

    Hi there,

    The first thing to try here is a power cycle. Turn off the console, remove the power cable from it, wait 15 seconds and then turn it on again.

    If this does not work, please have a look at the
    startup troubleshooter.
