    New Xbox One headset’s mic not working


    So, bought a new Microsoft brand stereo headset because I was sick of using the simple headset they give you when you buy the console. I can hear the game and my friends in the chat through the headset, but the mic doesn’t pickup my voice and no one can
    hear me. The LED on the adapter lights up if I hit the mute button, so it knows something is plugged in. I have already tried updating the firmware on the controller, a reset of the console, and trying the headset on a different controller. None of these resolved
    my issue. The old headset that came with the console still works on all of these controllers. It’s just the new Microsoft headset that’s not working and it’s just the mic that isn’t working.

    Thanks so much! As for the mic issue, one was my razer wireless headset which works great except for the mic, and because of that I bought brand new xbox wired headset and still no mic. Weird cause it says mic is on, but I can't hear my voice, no one else
    can, and my recordings don't have my voice either. Was going to buy a third headset but I wonder if it's the xbox itself. thanks anyhow

    Stereo Headset Microphone Issue

    Update: A new headset I had ordered last week arrived, same issue, though it has separate mic/audio cables I have yet to get an adapter for, Audio cable worked, mic cable just made static while being plugged in/unplugged/twisted. Works flawlessly on my computer,
    audio works on xbox, but mic won't work. I do not have access to a newer controller, and neither of my headsets are official Xbox One stereo headsets.

    I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

    Both mics are xbox official headsets and controllers, one of the controllers is a day one edition but just bought another brand new official xbox controller to see if that was the problem. The Mic just randomly stopped working one evening. And yes the
