    New Xbox One HD space


    I just recently purchased an xbox one, the MCC version, and the HD space seems really low for a brand new system. It's showing 353gb of space on the 500gb drive. I know some space will be taken for the OS, but that seems like a huge chunk for a brand new
    system. This is without installing MCC or any other game.

    Is that the normal amount? If it is, is there things I can delete off of it?

    installing hd problems

    Trying to inst the texture stuff but it says only permits installing hd content on the xbox 360 hd, what??? 4 gig xbox with 2.7 gig of space free not good enought???? any one has this issue as well, just bought a new xbox for this game.

    Alright. Well, I still think there should be an option to be able to check it. That's just dumb that they made it to where you can't. So you think at some point we'll be able to buy external drives for it or what? Because if that's posible, or when it is,
    I'm gonna get a TB harddrive because I don't feel like 500GB is enough.

    Yes that's normal Digital Viking.

    This is because your Xbox One's 500 GB hard drive can only technically store only 352GB of content.

    This is because the Xbox One reserves the remaining space for its OS and other functions.

    External HD's are quite cheap now though should you fill it quickly.

    One important thing to remember about external HD's is that they must be USB 3.0 and have a minimum of 256GB capacity to be formated for installing games on it..

    You cannot currently check your hard drive space. When it starts to get low you will be prompted with a message. If you are trading those games go ahead and delete the installs off of your hard drive. That can be done by going to My Games and apps highlighting
    the game and pressing the menu button. Then select uninstall. I dont know who told you that buying an external HDD would void your warranty, but that is just wrong. At present time the xbox one does not support external storage, it should change shortly.

    That option should be available soon. I think I remember seeing somewhere that the maximum size you will be able to use would be 3TBs. I hope its true, because Ive got my eye on a nice one
