    I got an Xbox One for Xmas, was very excited, now I'm just *** off beyond belief - the Xbox won't work, I haven't been able to get any useful help here on the forums, I tried to get support through the Chat function,
    that isn't working either!!! Right now I have a $400 paperweight, no idea how to fix it and the longer this goes on the more frustrated I am getting, I'm almost ready to throw the thing off an overpass! I will try ONE more time, in hopes that someone
    is familiar with my issue, and willing to help... (or maybe someone has an email address or phone number I can contact for REAL support!)

    When I started the FIRST TIME SETUP, here's how it goes:

    1. I selected English as the language, then pressed "A" to continue as advised.

    2. It goes to the Network setup screen, it was able to locate and connect to my WiFi, then on the screen it says "You're Connected!" (all as it should be), but when I press the "A" but to continue, it makes a "ding" noise but it doesn't move to the
    next screen - it just stays on the network page saying "You're Connected".

    That is as far as I can get. I posted a question about this a few weeks ago and someone suggested I reset the xbox and the router: (try this - press and hold the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds then unplug
    the console and the wifi router for 5 minutes. once the 5 minutes are up plug the wifi router back in and wait for it to boot all the way back up. once its booted back up restart the xbox and try the first time set up again)
    . I tried this, but it
    didn't make any difference - it still "connected" to my wifi and it still wouldn't go past the Network Setup screen.

    Someone else said I needed to have a "wired" connection: "(You need to try it wired imo , your on the "other side of the house " and a "different floor" ....that's probably not a good way to set up any console that is going to need a huge
    update , move it to where your equipment is to get it going or take to a friends house would by my suggestion ...)"
    I have strong wifi. We bought this thing as a wireless device, I find it hard to believe that Microsoft would market it as such if it
    doesn't work. if it has to be connected via cable, even for setup, then it isn't really a wireless device!

    The point is, in all the research I've done here on the forums and elsewhere, I have not seen one single example of someone having the same problem I do. It would seem to be one of the extremely annoying, totally random glitches. If the problem
    has never posted here before, it doesn't seem likely that anyone here will be able to help with it. Where can I go to get some support from Microsoft for this bloody expensive brick that we bought from them???? Is Sony's customer service this lousy on the
    PS4???

  2. Headset not working

    Can someone please help me. I have tried 3 different types of headsets with mics and I can't get any of them to work. I plug them in using the 3.5 mm connector directly to my Xbox one controller. I've checked my privacy settings and they're fine. I've checked
    them by trying to start a party and the console doesn't recognize any of them. I'm losing my mind!!! Help!!!

    To find and fix issues some troubleshooting has to take place ...if you can't or are unwilling to do that , I'm not sure how it will get resolved ...

    Since it is a new console maybe you should just take it back for a refund or exchange.

    It just sounds like you are bitter because people on the forums were trying to assist you. If you want to talk to Microsoft directly then you should try going here
    Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support. These forums are monitored primarily by gamers such as yourself that dedicate their time and experience to assist other gamers.

    Wireless devices work on different levels. Some work with weaker signals while others such as the gaming consoles require a strong consistent signal to perform optimally. Taking that into consideration some devices might work when others will perform poorly
    or not at all. Anyway, the closer you can get a wireless device to the router the better and that is why it is best to centrally locate the router in the building where the devices will be used.

    As far as Sony's customer support you will find that they have bad reports too. Just like any other company you have good report and bad reports but keep in mind very few people come to report good experiences.

  6. As it's never worked you can take it back to the shop you got it from for a free exchange, problem solved. I can't understand why you didn't do that straight away!

    What You suggest might be possible, but I can't see that it was intended to be used in that fashion.. as You say for it to work has the condition that the OP never changes his mind and gets another Xbox One..
