New Xbox One Experience is such an improvement, except...!

Why is "my stuff", the only thing that matters, buried all the way at the bottom of the dashboard? This is SO STUPID.

Why did they make the analog sticks on the Xbox One controller so loose?

I must be the only one then that instantly felt comfortable with the new controller, for me it's such a massive improvement and going back to the old 360 controller feels weird for me now.

installed.

Thankfully Azrael's here with a "Pro Tip" to help you get to YOUR STUFF faster than you can say "Why don't you just pull the right trigger, it takes you right there".

So you have 2 hands and the one you need to worry about for this action is on the right hand side.

To eliminate the 50% chance you'll get this wrong it's the one on this side ---------------->

When you hold your controller your index finger will naturally rest on the Right Trigger.

This is the one that's a little squeezey.

The next time you're on the XBox ONE Dashboard just give that trigger a squeeze and Hey Presto! You're there with all your stuff in an instant.

I'm glad you took that in the good humour in which it was meant.

I know what you mean. It would be nice to have things the way we want them.

At least it's pretty snappy to get where you want to get nowadays.

I knew I had "Fallout 4" in the drive... took me a while to figure out how to set it going from the main dashboard but I got there in the end.

After a few days with the new dash it shouldn't be too long before you're a dab hand at navigation.

 

This dashboard is SO much better in pretty much every single way. I have a "Day One" console I have barely used because I hate it so much I refuse to give it my time. It is so unbelievably slow and clunky compared to the 360.

In my opinion, when Microsoft unlocked 2Tb external drive capability for the 360, they fixed everything. The 360 has the capacity to compete with Blu-ray Disc based games and beyond, it's only real weakness. I love my 360s, but I will finally give the
One a try with this new interface. We'll see how it goes..

I like the dash more, but I don't like the store. Did they get rid of the DLC section?

 

Yeah regarding voice commands.. First of all, I personally don't like to speak to my appliances unless I am angry and smashing them. Second, I run full-on theater surround, large klipsch house speakers all around & dual 12" subs, and I love it loud. You
can try screaming commands at the Xbox over that noise if you'd like, but not in my house.

Yeah to be honest, talking to my Xbox is more effort than moving my hands, haha.

I personally love the new UI, but man it was weird moving down instead of to the right, I wanted to see the deals with gold and it must have been a good 30 seconds before I realised you need to scroll down instead of to the right, haha.

Some things seem like they aren't as easy anymore, but it's just a settling in period and will become natural with time.

 

Because in the new UI you scroll vertically, not horizontally. I love the new Windows 10 UI on Xbox 1. It's far too good to call it a Windows 8 UI. The new UI is way more faster, which proves UI/OS performance is based off 'how they make the software', NOT
solely on your ISP. Windows 7 was a big improvement to Windows Vista. The same could be said of Windows 8 and Windows 10 - Windows 8 was so bad, they had to make a Windows 8.1 lol. How was Windows 7 and Windows 10 an improvement? Because Microsoft 'listened'
to the feedback they got. That's why many people are happy and excited with Windows 10, and how Microsoft promotes the Windows 10 UI. Face it, the new UI is Windows 10 like.

I love it how they youthfully call it "my stuff" rather than "pins". "my stuff" sounds more fun for younger members on Xbox including myself, than 'PINS'.

I agree it's "such an improvement". You'll learn to adapt to it. Hey, I had to Update how rubbish that Windows 8 UI was like when I got Xbox 1 day 1. The UI didn't allow us to change the background. And it was so slow for a console with 8GB RAM and an AMD
Jaguar 8 core APU. Most of my friends and people I've met on Xbox Live found it hard to adapt to a Windows 8 UI on a console. It was inflexible. But when Microsoft released the new UI last week was it, suddenly Xbox 1's getting a lot of positive vibe about
it's new UI.

 

Hey Brandiesel the DLC section is still there.

You just have to kind of find it by accident in the Games section.

I found it once. Not the most intuative navigational path for that one though.
