New XBOX One experience, I'm ready for it.

Just watched the demo on the Live show. Im much more positive toward it now. Need to see the TV funtionality to be sold. Cortana looks fantastic. Glad i have a kinect

 

not going to be a fan of issuing voice commands with the "Cortana" prefix as quite honestly it sounds a little bit "teen" Probably just me though.

 

Genchy you dont have to by the looks of it. Seems to be alot quicker even with the controler now.

 

No I want voice, I just don't want to use "Cortana" as the prefix, so if your saying that's optional that's great.

 

I'm wondering what the default area of the new experience is going to be.

After all the similarly named New Xbox Experience for the 360 defaulted to the advert channel, sorry Spotlight, so are we going to see the same here.

The 360 itself now defaults to the Bing tab instead of Home, so it seems that Microsoft are thinking of pushing their products ahead of user experience on the dashboard. On the 360 at any rate, I hope the One doesn't follow suit.

 

Oh right Genchy. I would rather say cortana than Xbox but thats just me.

Vaynel,mine currently Boots to TV so i dont care whats next after that. Its usually Xbox go to Witcher 3,Now it will just be Cortana play witcher 3 or something like that and therefore Avoiding Microsofts evil advertising maw hah hah.

 

Looks a lot better then the current but then so would a blank page. Cortana, kinda cool but given how much garbage the Voice works I doubt I'll be using her.

 

I disagree. I like the current layout because it's all nicely spaced out with the tiles. The new UI looked to me like you've got some things on top of other things, which looked messy IMO. That being said, I do liked the whole you never leave your game,
fast speed, and Cortana aspects of the new UI.

Also, I'm fairly certain it'll be "Hey Cortan, go to Witcher 3." The real question is will it be open-ended (like can you say "show" or "play" instead of "go to") thanks to the power of Cortana or will it have to be a very specific command like it is now?

 

Cortana on windows phone has a much wider vocabulary than the Xbox commands, i think it's one of the main reasons she works so well. Hopefully she'll be the same on the console.

How is saying "Cortana go to Tomb Raider Definitive Edition" any more childish than saying "Xbox go to Tomb Raider Definitive Edition"?

 

As long as it work without issues i will be fine. Current UI gives me no problems either so.

 

Looks ugly,similar to an overcharged website rather than a console dashboard....I hope that it will be easy to navigate like current Xbox one dashboard with voice command.

 

Vaynel yes in my opinion it is, Xbox is the name of the console and brand. Cortana is fictional female character designed to appeal to teen Halo fans by having a nice CG rear end. Sorry not my cup of tea when I want to use my console.

 

I like the look of the new dashboard. Probably won't be using cortana as I don't have a kinect. Pretty cool though
