    New Xbox One Consoles unable to read game discs


    Hi all,

    Has this been fixed yet?

    New console only able to read cd,dvd and music, unable to read xbox one games, gives error code 0x80820002

    have tried all DIY Remedies and replaced console 4 times in 2 days ( live a long way from shop )

    Update rendering my 360 s 250GB unable to read disks

    Some updates contain a firmware update for your console's DVD drive. This is supposed to update your console so that it can read new game discs and prepare the console for games that have new copy protection systems and different discs sizes.

    The Xbox 360 console has used various DVD drives during it's production cycle, not all supplied by the same manufacturer. A small selection of drives have problems with the system update, rendering them unable to read discs. I'm afraid your console's DVD drive
    is one of them. The only way to get this fixed is to send it to MS for a repair. Whether you can get it repaired for free though I am unsure.

    Unable to read newer discs

    Contact Xbox Support at Toll free: (800) 4MY-XBOX or (800) 469-9269. They will replace you current console for a S model. I'm not sure if its 4GB or 250GB.

    Unfortunately none of my friends own a copy of the Metal Gear Solid Collection. However I rented a copy from the local Blockbuster. It didn't have any scratches and while installing it would stop at 61% and give me a "unable to read disc" error. The guys
    at Blockbuster suggested that it might be the new disc format for games. I have never heard of this before, so I went home and googled it and found hundreds of articles about this new XGD3 disc format. I found that lots of people who are playing Skyrim or
    MW3 are having "unable to read disc" issues too. I found this article about a replacement program but I never got any emails from Microsoft.
