    New xbox one causing nat issues


    I have had my xb1 for 2 months without major NAT problems. I have had test my mp connection on the settings page through twice and the nat resets from strict to open. Now today my sons new xbox one has arrived and we both have strict nat settings and the
    above work aroud will not work. I have tried having 1 xb1 wireless and 1 wired but still no luck. Im not very tech savvy so I need some help from an expert. We used to run 2 360s on this router and one would have open and one moderate nat settings. The router
    is a Netgear DG834G . Any help or advice will be gratefully appreciated.

    Frequently disconnecting from xbox live after system update.

    @Dude , I listed those known issues because they could be causing your nat issues ...

    Howdy Jortat!

    I really don't like giving links, but when it comes to NAT problems, links really do it best!

    First I'd suggest doing some Port Forwarding in your router which can be found

    HERE

    Since you have provided me with your router, HERE is also a link to your router info for doing port forwarding!

    If that doesn't open you NAT type right up on BOTH of your Xbox's come on back and we will break it down a little further see if we can discuss assigning Static IP's!

    I used to own one of those routers years ago. I used to get NAT problems with just one 360 unless I used the address reservation in the routers settings to reserve an IP for the 360.

    The network hardware forums says it has unconfirmed multi-console support. So you should use the address reservation feature to reserve different IP addresses for both the xbox ones.

    Leave the IP settings in the settings apps on both the xbox ones set to automatic.

    Because multi-console support is unconfirmed it means it isn't guaranteed and you may end up needing a new router if you want open NATs.

    Also port forwarding is not possible if you have more than one xbox as it is impossible to forward the same ports to both Xboxes at the same time. You have to use UPnP and address reservation. Nothing else will work so don't even bother wasting time looking

    This is one of a few problems caused by the new dashboard update.

    Some of which may need a patch for a fix. Or it could be a NAT type issue.

    Party chat issues are frequently caused by NAT issues. It is best if you have an OPEN NAT. Check your network settings, if you have a strict NAT type follow the instructions at this guide.
