NEW XBOX ONE CANNOT GET UPDATE

First thing Merry Christmas to all of my fellow gamers !!!

I have had the XBOX ONE since launch , love the system.

i purchased two more systems for the son and daughter for Christmas.

While attempting to set up my daughters new system , i have encountered an update error. Will NOT UPDATE.

I ran the network connection rest as recommended, all good .

Rebooted XBOX ONE as recommended , no luck , so the call has been placed....

My question for XBOX support is : does this relate to he problems microsoft is having with LIVE ?

It is a disappointing issue but the kids understand.

All I ask is that XBOX team reply to this post , I have a call in to support, I should receive a call in about three hours according to Microsoft estimate.

I will post the results of the phone call when this ends.

Forums are being rebuilt from the ground up.

Hopefully our Xbox One activity will show, but looking forward to this new update as surely the forums cannot get any worse, I hope.

 

Report Update issue: Need system Rollback

Yes many are, we cannot update at all now... I just got a new Xbox one and it cannot download the required startup update...lol

 

it has to be related to their LIVE problems, because I have read multiple forum posts all this morning about the same out of the box problems. setting up a new console that won't connect to update "looks like your connection is great, but the problem is
on our side".

hopefully they can sort it out soon! really disappointing to say the least! i hate to be that guy to say that these guys need to get their crap together on christmas day, but yea, ill be that guy...

I have experienced the same issue, and waited 2 hrs to talk with an online agent, whose idea of problem solving was to send the links to the support forums. Could it really be a system overload issue?

 

I hooked up 2 Brand New AC Bundles this morning and I am getting the same thing on both of them (wired) and have tried two different rooms I the house. It has to be related to Service Problem. Needless to say me and my 13yr old are waiting patiently.

 

Again yet another reason Apple needs to get in the TV gaming business. Microsoft will always be, and can only be Microsoft, sadly.

 

I knew I should of set it up last night. I've spent hours resetting my wi-fi working on connections, re-entering passwords for connection issues to get the update. All along it's XBOx and Microsoft causing the issue! So glad I wasted half my Christmas day
trying to get their issue resolved on my end. They owe me big time for this error on their part.

Sorry to hear about the update issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted:

Please give the following steps a try:

• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds, or until the unit is fully powered off.
  
• Unplug the power supply from the back of the Xbox One console and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  
• Plug the power back in and power on.

If the issue persists follow the steps in our Xbox One Offline System Update page. Please note the following:

• If you got the error before doing the first time update on a brand new console, downloadOSUDT1.
  
• If your console is not new and has received updates before, download OSUDT2.
  
• If after trying either of those files you still experience this issue, download the Restore to Factory Defaults file.
  

If the issue persists after trying the offline diagnostics, I recommend contacting our chat or phone support agents through our Contact Us page.
