New Xbox Live Account - should have been for my son

this sounds like something that your best chance at solving would be over at the xbox support page as this sounds like a “subscriptions & billing” issue which they would be able to help you with just explain to them that you wish to transfer the membership
to another account as you have made a mistake, if its possible to do so then they would be the people who can do it for you.

ok this is how you go about it. first off does your son have gold already on his account and have digital games on that account? if so set up the new xbox like normal make a account for your ladys kid. when that's complete on the new console go
to settings.... personalization... then click my home xbox. form there you will put your sons account as the home xbox account for the new console. from that point on the new console should have the xbox live and all digital games from the other account.

I had the same issue trying to setup convert my sons offline account to LIVE. Tried to "Join Xbox Live" from console, was told I needed to to live.com and create a Microsoft account. Went online, paid my $0.50 to verify. Went back to Xbox console and
tried to "Join Xbox Live" again. Entered my son's new child Microsoft account email address and password then entered my parental Microsoft account address/password and was received a notification that child Live profiles need to be created online at xbox.com.
As with you I went back to the computer and created the Live profile and it assigned his Gamertag. When I went back to the Xbox and tried to migrate the offline account to the Live account and was told that the Live account was already in use (or something
to the effect). So I had to create a NEW Xbox profile for my son. So now he has an offline profile with all his achievements and the new LIVE profile with nothing.

This makes no sense. There should be a way to connect the newly created Gamertag to his existing offline profile as you can with an adult profile.

I would like to convert my other son and daughter's offline accounts to LIVE but am not sure I want to go through the hassle and them have them lose all their achievements.

Let me know if I understand this correctly.

1. So I am making my younger son's Xbox (the new one) the Home Xbox.

2. My older son then signs into the new Xbox (adds his gamertag to the new Xbox) that has the Xbox Live account.

3. Do I need to make the old Xbox a Home console as well or can only one Xbox have a Home designation.

4. Can my older son be logged into both or can he just be on one Xbox at a time?

5. Or, Does he just have to have the gamertag attached to the new Xbox and does not have to be logged in to the new Xbox for my younger son to access Xbox Live.

Sorry this very confusing to me.
