    New Xbox Initial Update Interupted


    I have just set up my new Xbox One Halo 5 console and the first thing it asks me to do is run an initial system update. Ok no problem with that.

    The problem is; I do not have the best internet connection/speed at the moment and it would appear that there is a defaulted "power-saving" mode which is turning my console off after about 1 hour of no interaction. This is not long enough for my update to
    complete and when I turn the console back on it starts from the beginning again.

    Is there a way to disable this power-saving so I can at least start up my console?

    Lag compensation patch + Drop zone game type / Hardcore HQ + Ricochet variants tomorrow morning

    hmmmm keep getting connection to xbox live servers has been interupted since they pushed the update though, superb job done

    New Xbox Initial Update Interupted

    Sorry to hear it. Try disconnecting the console from the internet prior to turning it on. From there you may be able to get into Settings and adjust the power settings.

    Although it could be an issue with the console itself. If you have the console plugged into a power bar then plug it directly into the wall. The console has a built in surge protector so does not need to be plugged into a bar.

    I don't like the new interface (and I really hate the loss of the ability to stretch 4:3 images to fill 16:9 frame) but I see a lot less interuptions in playback, so all in all, not a bad update...

    In 24-48 hours there will be a new initial update on our servers, you will have to install the initial update as normal and it should work
