New Xbox gamertag doesn't display.

Hi, it's been about 2 weeks since I've changed my username on Xbox, but it hasn't changed yet. The purchase appears in my order history, and I've removed and added my account back to my Xbox but it's still the same. What can I do? I don't feel like spending another 10 dollars to change it again.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble seeing changes to your Gamertag.

Since you can see the confirmation of the order history, can you check Change Xbox Gamertag | Xbox to see if the name change actually went through? Or is it trying to charge you again for a new change?

If it is not charging you (since you already paid) try the name change again. It may not have gone through in the system.

Let me know if it is trying to charge you again.

The double gamertag is by design, as they transition over to the new gamertag system. Not all games will display the new gamertag system and as stated, your old gamertag will be displayed on 360 backwards compatible games. Any gamertag you create yourself,
is a custom gamertag.

I changed my gamertag and its half done it. What I mean by that is on games like GTA Online, Black Ops 4 and Fortnite its registered the name change. On Modern Warefare it hasn't registered the gamertag change and it still displays my old gamertag on a Xbox
party and on my sons friends list.

Anyone else had this issue?

The reason CoD:MW doesn't display your new gamertag is likely the following:

In order to allow MW to be cross-platform, Activision requires players to login to an Activision account when installing the game. This account contains an ID that is then used by Activision to connect players to the MW server regardless of gaming platform.
When in game, press start to access the options and then tab over all the way to the right and then select Activision account. You will see your Activision ID as well as a display name. You should be able to edit the display name from there to make it reflect
your new Xbox gamertag.

This is the new gamertag system - if you change it again you'll be given to choose both a "new" gamertag (with the numbers) and an "old" gamertag (without the numbers, and this is what will be displayed in just about everything that uses Xbox Live).
