New Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 constantly disconnecting during games

Recently bought an Elite controller series 2. While playing some games, most notably Tales of Arise, the controller randomly disconnects and FPS drops down to 1-3 frames at the same time. There are rare cases as well where it will refuse to reconnect afterwards.

I have an xbox one controller as well and the problem does not occur when using it. The problem also does not occur when using the Elite controller 2 wired. The game performance itself is smooth and I can achieve 90+ fps in most areas so I don't think my hardware is the cause and the FPS going down might just be a side-effect. Trying the Elite controller 2 on other games, It does not disconnect during them but there is the occasional reconnect. The firmware of the controller and the bluetooth driver for my laptop are updated.

I really hope I can find a solution since this has also happened to me repeatedly while using my xbox Series X controller and that is one of the reasons I decided on buying an Elite controller only to find out that the problem is still there.

Have you also checked if you have any pending Windows updates as well?

Sorry about that. I'll recommend you try turning off other Bluetooth devices in the room as the issue is sometimes due to interference on the controller.

I have tried that already. And I don't think interference is the problem since my other controllers and other devices that use bluetooth never had problems. Only specifically my Xbox elite and series X controllers. And it only happens on some games, not all. So it works perfectly fine on other cases.

Since the Elite Series 2 has the battery built in, then you cannot change them. If the controller is constantly disconnecting, and you have no issues with your other controllers, then you are better off taking it back and either get a replacement or money
back.
