New Xbox Avatars coming

I know a few people like these things & it seemed they had given up on adding things to Avatars but later on this year the whole Avatar thing is having a revamp.

Personally I can't stand them but good news for those who do like them.

Xbox Avatars (Massive Updates)

1. Why we receiving small updates for the nex xbox avatars?

2. Why Xbox Avatars doesn't have same features like it was on Xbox 360?

I don't know what's going on with Xbox Avatars. I'm seeing small updates for Xbox Avatar Editor App. Xbox needs to explain this on their YouTube Channel. Xbox Avatars needs a massive update ASAP !

As it happens, I just popped into the store today in an effort to style up but found that game fashions haven't changed since the 360 era Lotsa casual and sports-related stuff that might appeal to college folk, but nothing vaguely related to new Xbox
One characters etc. Avatars have been promised a makeover for a long time now, and it certainly looks like they've remodeled them from the ground up! That video showed LOTS of diversity and I'm *so* looking forward to jumping in.

In fact, that's the first thing I've taken away from E3 this year that has *really* got me hyped! Thanks again!! <3

 

This would be more exciting if we didn't have custom gamerpics now...

Since that's pretty much the only use for an avatar since the One came out in 2013.

They're pretty much useless now IMO.

Unless games featuring avatars make a comeback, (Joyride anyone?) or avatar rewards, (who remembers those?) they have just become beyond pointless.

They're all but invisible on the Dashboard unless a friend makes a post on the activity feed.

(activity feed is that other useless thing pretty much no one pays attention to)

Anyways, at least with my friends, no one has cared about any ones avatar since the 360.

 

Like I said,they're not for me but they do seem to have vastly improved them & done a pretty good job.

 

I'd forgot they still existed to be honest, wouldn't bother me if they got rid of them altogether.

Avatars went downhill on the Xbox One by not seeing them. With these new ones I would like to see more of our avatar on the home dash, by walking about and doing silly actions with what we chose to look at on the home dash. Otherwise, what's the point in
them by just using one as a picture.

 

TBH I didn't think ppl on here cared about avatars. You want avatars, play Xbox 360. I created mine to look like me, but have longer hair. i'm gonna tell smileskybird about this as he is on here a lot. Expect his comment on here soon. But yay! And yup I
play the sims 4 too. my dad plays Xbox One but he like never lets me on it. he said he'll get me my own Xbox One X, but I have to do my chores everyday until November. I also have my own Xbox 360 TG.

 

Who is Tom Warren? Why isn't this up on Microsoft's official Xbox YouTube channel? This looks like good news. But what P37 said, Xbox One's UI is crappy compared to Xbox 360. Microsoft has received many complaints about Xbox One's UI. Although the UI has
improved since launched. Xbox 360 shows us our avatars clearly on the dash, in parties, and a big Social page featuring it. Xbox 360 also shows ALL of our friends 3D avatars. Xbox One doesn't. It only shows some of our friends 3D avatars through the avatar
app. There's no point in revamping avatars if they don't first revamp the Xbox One dash. No point in expressing our 3D avatars when the Xbox One needs to be more pro-avatar rather than pro-Windows-10-boxes.

But it's a good idea that Microsoft should pursue. Older people tend to not be so interested in avatars, thinking they're a waste of time. But Xbox isn't just for old people. It's also one of the reasons why I chose to get Xbox. Why just have a 2D gamer
picture and be satisfied just with that as your profile?

 

Oh and a reason why I no longer have my Xbox 360 gamer picture, is I messed around with avatar app on Xbox One exited without saving and now it's changed my gamer pic to what you see now. I can still change it though. However when I log in on my Xbox 360
slim console, my original Xbox 360 gamer pic is still there.

 

Yup. I don't really like Xbox One's UI too. Too many boxes. And TBH it doesn't show our 3D avatars as well as how they do it on Xbox 360. But it'll be shweet if and when they do this and roll it out on Xbox One X.

I agree with my bf. It's pretty obscured compared with how they do it on Xbox 360. They need to show more of our avatar on the dash, like they do on Xbox 360. But this idea of revamped avatars is cool. I remember this Australian kid who I defriended who
was obsessed with avatars. He lol like changed his avatar appearance everyday, and sometimes changed his gamer picture to go with it.

 

weirder? Yea I still hate him. Swearing at me. He asked me if we could date, I said nope I'm taken. Yea I defriended him ages ago. But he wants hot girls on his friends list. But he ain't getting on my friends list again. He wanted to skype chat with us.
He like lists all these girls from different countries and calls them his gf's. If + when these new avatars come out, he'll probably spend like 3 hours a day in avatar editor lol...
