New Xbox App - Streaming from console

I just noticed this as well.

I'm hoping that it's a case of the new app still being in beta, or the streaming is being split to another app... although i can't see why that makes sense. Why not keep it all together?

I'm also curious as why this needed to be done? It seems the new app is just an entry point to get users into Game Pass. Apart from messaging, it doesn't offer anything more, and definitely nothing better than the old app which was cleaner, better designed,
faster and more useful. Why couldn't they just add a game pass tab to the sidebar on the old app?

I don't see how these things are related? Xcloud is great for what it's supposed to do, but isn't quite the same as streaming your games from your Xbox over your network to another device.

Thank you for replying - but that link is for mobile devices specifically, not Windows 10 devices, which is what the OP was asking about.

Currently, the Xbox Console Companion streaming still works on Windows 10. The reason OP was asking about the Xbox app on Windows 10 is because the Xbox Console Companion app is prompting users to install the Xbox app, which does not have streaming support.
I know that there is supposed to be a new Console Streaming app on Windows 10 later this year, but it is not available yet. I was just clarifying that for the OP and anyone else asking the same question about the new app, since I came here with the same question.

You should see a "Connection" tab right about your "Settings" tab. And make sure they are both on the same network. You may also have to go into your Xbox settings and change the name of your Xbox(yes annoying and silly, but it may have to be done)

I used to stream to twitch via the Xbox companion app, and a few of my friends still do, and we all had this issue.

That is within the Xbox Console Companion app itself. The issue is that the Console Companion is now telling people that it is going to be replaced soon with just the "Xbox" app on PC, which does not appear to have that feature.
