New X-Box one wont update.

ok.. i also have problems with the xbox not connecting to my wifi, and telling me the password is wrong even i know its the right one as i use it on all other devices. may this also be because of this issue with xbox live?

 

Nope, this is surely a different problem. Have you bought a brand new one or is it a used one?

Please check if your router has maby a MAC filter enabled.

 

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! I bought a brand new Xbox One today but I can't get past the initial system update. Is it possible that this has something to do with Xbox Live being down? I hope so because I would hate to go through all the hassle of
bringing this back to the shop that I purchased it from.

 

its a new console, and the router is at my house owners place, as im renting an appartment. so its hard for me to do anything with it

 

Ok, Mashup, then you should talk to the house owner on this, as he may have activated that filter for security reasons.

Mashup, this sounds curiously like a problem which has cropped up with the latest Xbox Preview update. Are you in the preview program? If so, I definitely recommend posting this in that forum, so they can track the issue.

Everyone else with update problems, this is very likely related to the live issue as people mentioned, but in the meantime, I recommend trying the Offline System Update Diagnostic tool, and to do this you DEFINITELY need to unplug from your network, as I
have heard issues with the OSUDT failing if connected to your network.

Sri Jaymo, he is on a brand new Xbox One so he should not affected by the preview issue.

The other guys are stuck in the initial update process, where the OSUDT is not recommended.

Meanwhile the services should be partially back, as I already have reports on now again working initial updates.

 

Mine just started working now. No idea what i actually did. Was watching TV, turned the xbox on to try again and kinda forgot i'd turned it on until a while later. When i realized, i turned to my HDMI channel and the same message was there, i clicked try
again and this time it worked, updated to about 8%, showed that stupid message again, i clicked try again....again and it updated. Took its *** time but updated.

Now im just waiting for Destiny to install, update, transfer or do whatever the hell its doing so i can play it. 82% and counting.....so much counting.

Yup, Bob, I think Mash was posting his reply as I was typing mine, had no idea he was on a brand new one.

Do you mean they're stuck in the middle of the update and can't use the OSUDT? I know the initial version (OSUDT1) is designed to work with xb_rel_flash1307.130829-1800, which is literally the stock, unupdated version of the OS (e.g. fresh off the shelves,
or after a Factory Reset), but if they're stuck on an error or progress bar, that's a different story.

 

just letting you know that it fixed itself for me after the XBL issue was over. the wifi problem was caused by a 3rd party device that was hooked up to the router (maybe confused my xbox or something.. idk). anyway, im in and im able to playas normal

 

Okay, problem solved, update ran and X1 is working without problems. Must have been a XBL problem. ACIV looks amazing, can't wait till Unity is available. NFS Rivals also entertaining.

 

I still have this same issue. I ordered the Assassins Creed Bundle, and I started this ridiculous adventure at 12:30, 11/5/14!! I have followed all the troubleshooting guides, except the offline update, as my OS version is not on the list provided. I spent
about 45 minutes on the phone with support, last night around 7:30pm, can got no where. The phone tech said she would send me an email to reference and/or reply, but I never received it. I have tried wired, wireless, and connected directly to the modem. I'm
pretty close to just returning it, and going back to my 360. I tried staying loyal, but I am starting to wonder if it was a mistake!! Seriously, I can't even do anything with it. No TV, no games, no nothing!! This is like DOA, only worse!!!

 

So what exactly are you experiencing? The initial update not working?

Are you at all connected to the Internet with the one?

What os version is your one? There should be all versions available at the OSUDT page.

If you'd provide us with some more details er max be able to help you with this.
