    New wireless control acting strange

I received my new wireless control from amazon, since my original was broken by my grandson after towing it hard.

I did the procedure of connecting after inserting a fully charged battery pack from my old control, then pressing on on the console, then trying to press the reset black back button and nothing.

So I tried to press the small black button and the x front button at the same time, and started blinking rapidly then blinking slowly then solid.

When I try to use the left joystick it moves awkwards, 2 times or nothing, and with the cross pad nothing but when I move with the joystick and then the cross pad it moves.

Now is not accepting to go online after pressing the A, I can't start a game pressing A.

Even connected with USB with no batteries

Is it a bad unit ?

    Thank you

    Hector

    :)

    Controller Acting Strange

I have a wireless controller, and a plug in controller, if I am playing Xbox 360 with someone else. If I plug the controller into the first slot, it kind of goes crazy, and you can not press any buttons. If I unplug the controller, and put it into the second slot, it works fine. What is going on here? Is it my controller, or the slot in the Xbox 360?

    New wireless control acting strange

    Hey there FoggySoda!

Since this started have you tried a full power cycle on your console? If not, let's definitely give that a try before anything. First hold the power button for 10 seconds (or until your console turns off) and then power it back on. Once everything is back
up and running try using your controller again to see if there's any change.

To clarify, if you go back to your previous controller do you have any control issues with that?

    Xbox controller acting strangely

Try hooking up the controller to the console wired for 15 minutes without a battery. Just letting it sit there, power the controller off, then try it again. If that doesn't fix your problem, contact Repairs for Xbox. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/browse/xbox-one/warranties-and-repair

    Thanks for contacting us!

    Xbox Controls are acting strangely

Hi Aaron, my name is Oskayra, freelance consultant and gamer like you.

Have you checked that the controls are properly configured?

    1) Open the "Settings" application.

    2) Select "Accessibility".

    3) Select "Controls".

    4) Select "Buttons".

Check that the buttons are correctly assigned.

If not, the controller may be defective.

To check this, try connecting the controller to another console or PC. If you have problems with the controller on another console or PC, then the problem is related to the controller. In this case, you may need to replace the controller.

I recommend that you re-apply for a refund via this alternative link:

If you have found this information useful let me know and if you need more help I will be attentive to continue helping you.

    Best regards,
    Oskayra

    My controller is acting strange

Haywood, that issue is a common defect with controllers and one I've encountered myself. After discovering there was no known fix I just had to get a new controller.

    My controller is acting strange

Basically when I don't push any buttons on my pad for roughly 5 seconds it randomly uses the up function on the left analogue stick.

I'm sure its the analogue stick as when I press down on the d-pad it fights between going up and down.
