New USB Storage and download issue

Sorry to hear it. It could be that the USB device is getting old and failing. When this happens it can send false information to the console itself. I would recommend either trying a new device or purchase an official Xbox 360 hard drive to see if that
solves the issue for you.

firstly when you get the new console your gamertag can be re-downloaded just go to recover gamertag.

secondly even if you did want all your game demos and themes they can be all re-downloaded to your new console.

1.Connect the USB device to a USB port on your console.

2.Go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.

3.Select Memory.

4.On the Storage Devices screen, select USB Storage Device.

5.Configure the storage device. You have two options for configuring your USB storage device for Xbox data storage: 1.Erase all existing data, and configure the entire USB storage device.

2.Configure some (but not all) of the USB storage device's memory (up to 16 GB).

when the usb is configured to your xbox try moving all the game saves over to the usb stick.

Under Storage settings, prepare the drive for console storage.

Delete the corrupted download, and download the game you want again. Choose the USB drive as destination for the download.

Hey there manwidsword! My next suggestion would be:

-Clear your cache

-Turn off your console

-Remove your current storage device

-Plug in a new storage device (like a formatted USB)

-Turn on your console

-Download the game from your download history to the USB drive (or whatever new storage device you chose)

-Try running the game again (with only the new storage device plugged in) and see if it freezes on the same load screen

Is it possible that your console hard drive got corrupted?

Try to turn off your console, and remove the hard drive from the console. Find an empty USB flash drive or empty USB hard drive with at least 8GB of storage, or back up the data on your USB storage devices to your PC, and use the USB drive as a test on the
console.

In the settings under storage, have the console prepare your USB drive as console storage. THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON THE USB DRIVE!!!

After the console shows the USB drive as Memory Unit, go to your account's download history on the console, where your digital download games should show up.

Try to download a game to the USB storage drive.

If no games show up in your download history, make sure you are using the correct Microsoft Account email! If you use a different email than the one that bought your games, it's like a new account for the console that didn't buy any games.

After the download worked, turn the console off again, and attach your hard drive again. If your games show up again, good.

If not, try to download the games again from your download history.

If they can't be stored on the hard drive, I'm afraid the hard drive is defective and has to be replaced.
