new update

Still no 1080i support.

If they were really listening to our feedback, they would've added 1080i output by now.

 

Not seen many threads about 1080i am sure they will add it

I thought 1080i was dieing out, so why would they spend time including it?

 

You've been misinformed EnenDaveyBoy. 1080i is not dieing out. Most all TV stations broadcast in 1080i and the PS4 outputs 1080i.

Many people own HDTVs that can only display 1080i, so the Xbox One doesn't work properly on these TVs.

In the UK, you can't but a 1080i TV, they might accept 1080i, but they are certainly not advertised as such.

The 1080i update is going to depend on MS views of 1080i, and how they priorities it.

Many people isn't most, and if many equals a minority then it will be way down the list, IMO the same as people with 4k, and 3D.

 

GG no mate there only was last time coz the party was dif i am a bit confussed though. i got the update and there is no friend notifications not even a option to turn it on.

 

HD ready tv's are 720p full HD tv's are 1080p no one makes 1080i anymore HD tv channals are normally 1080p or 720p even upscaled dvd players upscale to 1080p plus 1080i was last gen this gen its full HD

 

Mine defaulted at 1080i. I had to change it to 1080p manually.

 

How did you guys get the update? Xbox in stand-by or xbox actually powered on?

 

I have mine in Stand-By and when I powered it on the update started... I am speaking of the March update (my only experience apart from the initial update).

 

i hope one day stations start broadcasting in 1080p. i have MAYBE 1 or 2 stations that do it .. MAYBE i'm not even sure. all others do 1080i or 720p.

 

I wish the TV stations would too. Most of mine are in 720p as well. It would look so much better at 1080p, especially with live nature shots.

In terms of 1080i, I've personally never been a big fan and can't see it being a priority update. I've never seen a TV that will only take 1080i without taking 720p and in my experience, most people will choose that anyway. Obviously I can't speak for everyone,
but generally speaking.

Everything else in this update seems to be pretty good though. Nothing major in the way I use my Xbox but it's always good to be looked after, just a little dissapointed not to see external USB support yet.

 

My tv does 1080p 1080i, Dynamic I just got a message should get update soon in UK
