Pfft. Why do I need a custom gamerpic when I'm more than happy with my piquant (nb, word of the week) avatar? I'd seriously be more hyped if new avatars were incoming! Waaah! I need some new sliders already!!

 

I've had access to custom pics for a while thank god.The selection of pics they have on the xbox one is awful & I can't stand avatars so i'm more than happy.

 

Look for a surge in "Enforcement Action" whining as users learn that the pics have to meet the COC rules.

 

Whatever happens, my forum XP meter is READY!

Just finished dumping the update on my Xbox One. Yay, custom pics. I'm gonna change my gamer pic. I probably may change it at least once every week, more or less. Off to put my PC specs in it, just kidding, maybe The Sims 4 or holiday photos or Planet Coaster,
or maybe Xbox One X's specs which I love, well done Microsoft for creating the best console ever. Actually I'll put this in the Activity Feed. And yes I have over a 100 friends (not followers, proper friends) on Xbox, so someone will see this. Put some smiley
faces hearts thumbs up etc.

If, as you say. it's *inevitable* that bans will result from people using custom gamerpics, then why is MS updating the console to allow for them?

I can see it now, I upload a gamerpic of myself and someone gets offended that a one armed man was playing hoops without his shirt on. Next thing you know, the banhammer!

Better for MS NOT to give this easily offended generation any more excuses to. "LORD over you" but then again. It may help to pad MS's $bottom line$ (1st quarter losses)

 

Because 99% of xbox live users can be trusted to follow the rules.

This is something the community wanted so Microsoft should be applauded for adding this feature.Doesn't matter if someone is offended by a certain pic or not,if that pic is within the rules then it's fine.

It's no different from gamertags,

You'll only get a 24 hour suspension unless you continue to use gamerpics that violate the rules.

If someone doesn't learn their lesson & continues to upload offensive gamerpics then they deserve a ban.

 

30 million X1's sold, so where is the evidence that even a third that number of users wanted custom gamerpics, or for that matter even their proper names. Which was never given to MS BTW, displayed?

But the amount of comments on places like Twitter,the feedback site etc. would indicate that it was a extremely sort after feature by a lot of people.

You can hide your name if you want,which you've been told several times,it's not mandatory to have your name displayed,it's called choice.

How exactly are they making money from people uploading custom gamerpics?

Once again you have displayed your lack of knowledge about such things & your want to derail threads with conspiracy theories.

 

Its not a theory when its actually happening and/or *IS expected to happen.

As for this thread, if I were trying to derail it I would simply not post in it and let it go to page 2 where it's likely to never see the light of day ever again. ;-)
