New update....... grrrrr

So I come in from mowing the grass and the X1 is updating..... (kids freaking out cause Paw Patrol suddenly stopped). The wife said it was a Netflix update.... nope, it was the "next X1 experience"...

So I was pumped.... waiting for Cortana... I go to "turn her on.."...lol.... and guess what..... still not available in my area!!! I live 30 mins from the Montana border in Canada!!!

I live in NZ. When i get home ill jump on my xbox 1. i dont think its even available for australians. if i manage to get it working ill do a youtube video of it. wooo xbox 1 talks back to us.

 

No Australia doesnt have it yet.

 

lets just change it to US or UK XD.

 

Actually being part of the preview/new program than this should be ok, I've done it several times on the preview with advise from ms.

 

cortana needs to go, take over 8 seconds to take a screenshot and nothing works, the system cannot understand most simple thing and you have to say hey cortana for everything and it is getting very very annoying, they need to give the option to allow us
to use the original kinect commands and not cortana instead of pushing this mess, if you want voice commands then don't update at all, try record that, you have to say hey cortana record that or along those lines and then she either does not understand it,
snaps to the side and searches bing or waits 15 seconds or more to actually perform the action.

basically, kinect has just been side stepped completely and the most useful thing about kinect was the built in voice commands theat did work ok, Microsoft can now refund me for the device they pushed onto me at a cost and now completely killed.

 

^ that doesn't sound good to be honest and would probably be the only reason I would stop using voice commands. I'm not 12 and don't want to say "hey Cortana" before every command. This is likely to be the only thing that makes unhappy with the One
experience and vent at MS like forum random!

I've always wondered why the Kinect had to be required to use voice commands when a mic is capable of doing the same thing.

^ not everyone wears or wants to wear a mic, you don't even game with people and if you do you don't communicate so you of all people should know that.

 

Well so far Cortana has been terrible.Tried to record a clip & it opened up internet explorer or whatever it's called & bought up the lyrics to a Faithless song !!!!!

It was "we are one" so I suppose it got the "one" part right :-/

It is only in preview though & they are listening to the feedback we give so hopefully it'll change but as it is I hate it.

 

The Cortana experience sounds terrible so far. I'm in the preview program, but never got prompted to update. By the sounds of it, thank goodness.

 

I usually used that goes with witch for internet any way. But the one version they need to fix her.
