New Update allow 2TB hard drive

The new Xbox 360 update says it allows any 2TB hard drive. Will I be able to use a USB3.0 hard drive on the xbox 360? I kinda know it will but just trying to find out for a friend before she goes out and buys one and it
don't work.

Has anyone tried it yet?

My 300GB Hitachi HDD not working on Xbox 360 after update

I have a 300GB Hitachi Hard drive that wont show up on my Xbox 360 after the update to allow 2TB Harddrives. Ive reinstalled the update, and Ive preformatted my hard drive and it just wont work. How do I fix this?

Message received on my Xbox Live Gold announcement screen.

You can now purchase and add an external hard drive up to 2 TB in size to your 360 console.

It allows you to use USB 3.0 flash drives so I would imagine so.

well the word any is like a false promise in this case. i wouldnt use seagate as they have compatibility issues. also the hdd can only be at most a 2tb hdd anything higher it wont format

I had her get the same kind I use on my Xbox one to use on her Xbox360. A 2TB Toshiba Canvio USB3.0 and she has not had problems.

you are allowed to attach a external hard drive so go buy a 2TB hard drive if you run out of space, problem solved

See, here is something that the original poster didn't think about |(and neither does anyone that says they want to upgrade the internal hard drive)

With the current setup, you can plug in a 2TB hard drive and have a total storage space of 2.5TB.

With the option of updating the internal hard drive, you can take out the 500GB hard drive and upgrade it too a 2TB drive, but that leaves you with a 2TB console, not the 2.5TB with the current setup.
