New to Xbox One, and Not Happy!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think so, most of the games I have installed have given me the option to play while still installing so I assume so, to be honest I always just wait till its 100% before playing.

 

Can't he set the console to download updates for games while it's in hibernate mode? That way he wouldn't have to deal with the downloading times when all he wants to do is sit down and play.

A friend of mine ran into a massive download/install time when he purchased GTA 5 through the marketplace on PS4. Took him over 24 hours to finish. I'm assuming this is tied to internet speeds.

 

Can you get a 4G data hub where you live? That could give pretty fast update downloads and patches.

 

A 4G internet hub? Here in the states you would be looking at a thousand plus phone bill with the size of today's games and patches.

don't have A ps4, but pretty sure you hve the same issues with that system? ( did with the ps3)

I just installed AC Unity on PS4 to test and it installed all 40.98 GB in 1:34.44. It's not quite 30-40 seconds, but much, much faster than xbox one.

As someone who owns both consoles I have yet to run into a game that doesn't install practically in no time on the PS4. I've bought plenty of games for it since it is my main console and the install is pretty much a minute or less in most cases. As we know
the xbox is a different story that hopefully they'll fix soon.

 

Hahaha! Your so full of crap. No system will install 40gb worth of data in 1 and half mins! Seriously who are you trying convince here. Is that 100% installed or is it just to the point where you can start the game. Oh my I can't stop laughing!!!!!!

 

You could always return your xbox one and get a 360? thats probably what i would do if i didn't play online games. skyrim, oblivion, dragon ages, all the assassins creeds etc. No connection required. also all your sports games from the last 10 years

come on man, thats not even close to true. I can't even install the small free ones that quick. it took me over 30 minutes to install infamous first light. My connection isn't the best. i get about 21 down on my XB1 and about 18 down on my PS4 (both hard
wired in) I've seen posts that PS4 caps download speeds at 25 down anyway, can't confirm myself since my speed isn't high enough to pass that cap, but regardless even if you had a 100 down just to download at full speed would take over 6 minutes (100 down
is 6GBs per minute) Last game i downloaded and waited to play was forza 5, it was playable after 15 mins but took about an hour or so to fully download and install. playable =/= fully downloaded and installed.

It is 100% installed from disc all 40.98 GBs in 1:34 as far as I can see. After the 1:34 I clicked information and it shows all 41 gbs downloaded.I already have the updates downloaded since I uninstalled it and re did it.

I'm talking about from installation of the game data from the disc. The updates from PSN are seperately downloaded. Your Infamous comparison doesn't work since it is an online only game. Disc based games install the game data fast on PS4. The updates are
separate unlike Xbox.

thats a whole different situation then. I've only done 2 disc installs between both systems. AC4 on XB1 and TLOUR on PS4, both took minutes and were very quick. But how can you compare installed a game w/o updates to installing a game with updates? either
way you still need to do it.

I'm talking about putting a disk in the machine and doing the install. On PS4 you don't have to Install the updates, it will however start downloading them separately. You'll get a message saying that if you want to use online features you have to install
the update. Apparently I was wrong and the 1:34 AC Unity install was the playable part (I don't see on PS4 where it shows the progress of the entire download like Xbox one.) Regardless, the PS4 would be the console the OP would want if he was looking for faster
installs on the Next Gen. Here is a Kotaku article comparing the difference between PS4 and Xbox One install times and processes.Though I don't know if the speeds have been improved or not on Xbox One since most of my games are digital.

No system, pc or console could install 40gb of data from a disc to a HDD in 1 and a half mins. At the end of it all he can install the games on Xbox one without the updates, exactly as on the ps4. It even asks you if you'd like to install updates now or
later when you insert the disc. His problem is that he has admitted that he has very bad internet. That will play havoc on both systems. So seriously stop trying to upsell you fanboy crap. I've seen both systems installing games and while yes in the beginning
the ps4 was faster, now they are quite evenly matched.

 

Any console you buy will require an update thats life.
