New to Xbox entirely. Just got an xbox one.

So I have bought an Xbox One A.C Unity bundle w/o kinect. I picked up Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall. What other games do you guys recommend? What headset do you guys recommend? What are some cool tips and tricks to know about the system?
PS Im not much of a Halo fan. Never saw what the big deal was when Ive played it. Any advice related to the Xbox One qould be appreciated. Thanx

Can't get my account on a new xbox

so I just got the Xbox one x and I want to get my old account on the new console but when I try it creates an entirely different account even though I'm using my old email and I know it's the right email because I used the one that's under my gamertag on
the home screen of my Xbox one s yet it still creates an entirely different account with a different gamertag and none of my stuff there, games and such. So is there a way to get my old account on the new console or am I gonna have to get everything new again?
I've tried everything on the xbox support pages but nothing worked.

Same thing happening to me, I even created an entirely new account "this one" but now I'm getting it on this one too. I'm already mad. About to be done with xbox entirely and by a ps4

 

Farcry 4 & Dragon AgeInquisition are awesome, both games should last you ages too.

A lot of issues you may have with the X1 can be cured by doing a hard reset. To do this, simply keep your finger on the power button on the console for about 10-15 seconds, the console will shut down fully.

Not sure about headsets.

 

I picked up the Turtle Beach Ear Force One, on sale for $40, a few weeks ago. It's low-end, but great for its cost. It's prolly on sale again somewhere, this close to Christmas.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is a surprisingly good FPS, if you're looking for another one of those.

If you're installing from discs, I read that installation's a lot faster if you're not also downloading/installing the day-one patch for it, that so many games seem to have these days. Disc first, then update.

I'd recommend picking up any turtle beach. The mic you get with the system is just crappy in every way imaginable.

There are some good games on sale right now, so you should check them out.

 

Check out the deals on the far right slide of the dashboard. There's some really great weekly and daily deals.

 

Hey OP - Imo DR3 is one of the best games this gen, it's also an exclusive to the XB1. Also, Shadow Warrior is awesome though I may be a bit Biased with this one, it's a re-imaging of an old FPS. Did you ever play Metro 2033/new light? Excellent series from
an excellent book. So you got Unity? Get the latest patch, it's a huge fix.

 

If you want a relatively cheap headset that, IMO, works great, then stick with the Xbox One stereo headset - it's plenty loud.

As far as games go, I'd recommend spending $30 for a year's worth of EA Access - it gets you access to discounts with EA games, the ability to play new EA games early, and you essentially get Madden 25, FIFA 14, Peggle 2, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare,
Battlefield 4, Need for Speed Rivals, and UFC all for "free" for the year. That's not bad for 1/2 the cost of 1 game.

Also, take advantage of the Free Games with Gold and Deals with Gold promotions to get 1 or 2 additional free games each month* as well as some pretty great deals (although it's digital only - no discs). I think this month you can get Volgarr the Viking
and Worms Battlegrounds for free, but only until the end of the month, so you better hurry.

Other free-to-play games you can get include Warframe, Powerstar Golf, Pinball FX2, Killer Instinct, Voice Commander, Project Spark, and a couple of others I'm sure I'm forgetting about.

* Only for as long as you are a Gold Xbox Live member.

As long as you have the space, this is a good way to build up your collection real quick.

 

Some advice about the console? Here:

- Do a hard reset often (hold down the power button on the console for ~!0 seconds.

- Make sure all of your games and apps are closed down by pressing the menu button on your controller and then choosing quit.

- Hold down LT+RT+Y to refresh your home screen at any time.

- Pressing B within the XB1 UI doesn't go back per se' but rather takes you back to the last thing you were doing.

- Pressing X on the home screen brings up your TV, if connected properly.

- Look for the Kinect tutorials in the settings menu (press the menu button to access settings at any time within the XB1 UI) to help you learn how to use it, if you have one or decide to get one.

- Use SmartGlass or a keyboard (USB or wireless) to type your messages to friends - it's a lot faster.

- If you're ever lost, you can press menu anywhere within the XB1 UI to access the help menu.

- Follow the Xbox Live Code of Conduct and Terms of Use.

 

Dead Rising 3 is a great game, and it'll keep you going for hours. You can also check out EA Access for some extra games.

Don't agree with the advice of doing a hard reset often. What's the point of that? A hard reset should be a last resort problem solver not something you do routinely as a preventative. Think I have HAD to do three since day one.

 

EA access is a good bet IMO.
