New to the world of xbox live

Hi all,

I have a quick question. Why are there so many "required" updates for GTA V? In all honesty, the only reason I got a gold account was so I could have full access to the story mode. I'm not seeing the benefit of all these updates. I don't plan on playing online
at all. Any help understanding this would be appreciated.

An Xbox LIVE Gold membership is not required to purchase and download games. Sometimes Microsoft has sales that are only available for gold members (free members will see these at their normal retail pricing). You would need to still pay for these games that
you wish to play (if they are not on sale or if they are not listed for free).

The primary benefit of having an Xbox LIVE Gold membership is the ability to play online with others around the world as well as access entertainment applications (please note that some still require their own separate fees such as Netflix, Hulu, etc).

Hello VersedGraph3861, regarding your question, you can indeed download games through your Xbox 360, using the Games on Demand. You can find that on your Xbox 360 looking under the Games tab on your Xbox Dashboard. Games on Demand will allow you to purchase
and download full games at a reduced price or the current retail price.

 

When it comes to updates. Most games (Possibly all) don't differentiate between online and offline play. The game gets updated as a whole. I'm not sure what more to say on that one, it's just the way it is.

 

So, it's like the bureaucratic red tape of government? That makes more sense to me than you probably realize. I appreciate the info. Many thanks.
