New strike system seems easily abusable

Is there any protection at all? or is it time to leave xbox ecosystem?

I've played enough online games with bad (or no) ingame reporting systems to know that if you play a unpopular character or playstyle your xbox account can get absolutely flooded with reports to the point your account gets banned from any social services for over a week.

It's happened to be no less than three times for simply playing characters people report the moment they see you lock in. And Xbox support says they can't do anything because they can't monitor the ingame systems for these games so 'there must be some truth to it with this many reports'.

Do you know how frustrating it is to have friends hop on to play and to have to sit out of party chat due to suspension and when asked what you did the answer is 'i like playing X character that everyone reports on sight' ? it's ridiculous.

1-2 weeks ban for just playing what you enjoy without saying a single bad word, and quite reguarly being cussed out ingame chat and ingame voice chat by toxic teammates bragging that they have reported you in an attempt to ruin your day is already disgusting but you're telling me that a stack of kids mass reporting you over a 6 month period can get you AN ENTIRE YEAR SUSPENSION!?!

I have 0 faith in this system, i've already seen Xbox enforcement team fail to do anything when reports game through a 3rd party game they don't run, better hope you only play games Xbox owns so they can actually confirm you've done nothing wrong because if you get a 365 day suspension for no fault of your own you might as well make a new account or trade in your xbox and switch to pc, ps5 or nintendo.

My suggestion for anyone who does get these false reports, play less. Xbox punishes you for playing one game too much if you're getting mass reported. The 'good/bad' ratio becomes too one sided and it gets flagged. Switch between multiple games so you have more good time in games you dont get reported in to help balance out the games where Microsoft's systems are being abused.

This new system is stupid idk what smart person at Microsoft who was made in a test tube came up with this idea but I have been banned 2 times already one for 4 days and one for 8 days and it says my account did something not any voice msgs no normal msg just my account and I haven’t done anything and it doesn’t even give me a reason why I’m banned, it says “no details at this time” someone needs a slap in the enforcement department

We have a similar issue, gamerpic was reported twice in one day, got 2 loads of 3 strikes, so 6 strikes and a 22 day ban for having a hand drawn gamerpic of a face... xbox won't do anything.

How can they give such significant bans for a picture of a side profile of a face? I'm beyond words, all the money and time invested they need to up there game.

Agreed, just got fake reported in the middle of the night for what I can only assume was a video clip I upload from a game to a club a day ago unless you can get back reported from a long way back (it was a club for that game and straight from the Xbox so not digitally altered) the text was nothing bad at all, or even mean.

I have never done anything at all wrong with my account since I got it with a new Xbox 360 like almost what 20 years ago.

Found your post by searching this stupid system, I mean I’m comm banned for a day, I only play with my wife in the same room (I haven’t played with anyone else in months!) won’t tell me what it was and I have no means to submit it as a fake report.

System abused here. Honestly I am just probably going to stop interacting with the community all together, we just play by ourselves and that’s it these days.

They don't pick and choose. If what you say gets blanked out here in the forums, then it's not allowed on the service so it would warrant a suspension.

If you're getting a message about Xbox not taking action, ignore that. I've had that on reports and they still took action. So it's a glitch that you're seeing that.
