New/Returning Gamer.... Need suggestions

I haven't played any games in years mainly because of work and life. Used to love Halo but recently picked up my controller and popped in Halo 3 and couldn't get used to the controls and frankly the game bored me. I want to start playing again but I want
something that captures my attention but also isn't super difficult to learn the controls, etc. I've downloaded all the Games with Gold games since they started, even though I don't play them. I also bought Bioshock Infinite on the recommendation of a friend
and haven't tried it. The rest of my games are kids games.

Anyone have any suggestions on games I may enjoy that doesn't have a steep learning curve? I also bought Halo, Spartan ****.

Sorry but if none of the suggestions helped you will need to contact support regarding this. Is your console still in warranty ? If you only just got the console try returning it to the retailer.

Before you go out and buy some games we recommend, try all of the game you've got with Games for Gold. There are some good games in that lot. Also, try Bioshock since you have it. What if you buy the games we suggest, but you never play them. At least if
you try all of those games, you'll know if you definitely want to get back into gaming.

For what it's worth, I suggest Far Cry 3. It's a fantastic game. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but it's mostly to do with crafting things. It's actually easy to do, but you won't have to worry about doing it if you play the game on "easy" difficulty.

 

Skyrim. Also follow brandiesels advice.

 

Topic: I recommend Halo 4. Both for the on disk Campaign, and Spartan Ops which is online only for Solo, and Multiplayer. (RATS)

Off topic: Please MS/343 make Spartan Ops playable offline! Announce that during E3, and I'll be a happy 'camper' for the next decade.

 

Just played a little Spartan Assault on my Surface. Gonna try it on the Xbox shortly. I'm gonna go through the games with gold library and see what interests me. Will try Bioshock too. The trailer I saw online looks really cool.

I love how Bayonetta consistently sneaks into Azrael's posts praising games as the best out there.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. Bayonetta is an ok game. Nothing special.

 

"Bayonetta" is the greatest game released on the XBox 360.

The XBox 360 version received a perfect 10/10 from "Famitsu" magazine in the East and "EDGE" magazine in the West.

In terms of graphics, gameplay, control, customisation, sound, story and replayability it knocks pretty much everything else on it's backside.

I would play the games with gold games I have downloaded and than I would search for games with free demos in all sections, indie, arcade, etc.

 

Az, it's an average game. I can't believe you brought up story....in Bayonetta. It is no better than DMC, Castlevania LOS, Ninja Gaiden etc. I know you love to check game history, so check mine. I actually only played it on my 360. I completed it. Other
games I play on my PS3.

The only thing that stood out were some of the boss battles were cool. That's it. In my opinion, and I have played thousands and thousands of games in the 34 years I have been gaming, it's average. But hey, you go girl. If it's your favorite game, then rock
on. Don't let it bother you if others think it's average. Dark Souls is my favorite. Would I care if you didn't like it? No. I'm a grown man and that stuff hasn't bothered me since I was 4 or 5.

 

"Bayonetta"'s graphics, gameplay, control, customisation, sound, story and replayability all testify to the contrary.

"Dark Souls" is coming out on Games For Gold so BigDaddyHink, if you can hold off until then you can have "Dark Souls" for free.

Otherwise everything mentioned above is a pretty good suggestion except for the Shooters which are following a similar control scheme to "Halo 3" which you said you weren't so keen on.
