New Resident Evil Game To Run At 1080p, 60 FPS On Xbox One! Amazing!

Okay, as requested, I replayed the demo and this time more THOROUGHLY. Since I knew about the trapdoor in the starting room, I immediately went in there and found a FUSE. After placing this, I then found a DUMMY FINGER in a drawer somewhere which was usable
upstairs and enabled a set of stairs, which then led to a BASEMENT KEY. Later, despite finding the videotape, I deliberately *did not* view it - instead attempting to search the remainder of the house. TO NO AVAIL, it would seem, until I *viewed* the tape.

Annoyingly, this then made a BACK DOOR KEY appear inside the recess behind the trapdoor! Seriously hate it when areas or items are closed off until you LINEARLY follow a bread crumb trail. When leaving the starting area, I found that a RUSTY DOOR in the
hallway would open (which previously wouldn't budge until I'd viewed the tape - *more* arbitrary gating to prolong the experience), which then allowed me to access the BASEMENT. Despite finding some GUN AMMO, I could *not* find a GUN because some monstrosity
which reminded me of a LICKER attacked and killed me in the basement! Whereupon I was unceremoniously kicked back to the START SCREEN.

WTH?! Where's my checkpoint? If you think I'm replaying this lumbering, *glacial* piece of busywork yet again, you're mistaken. While I begrudgingly admit the new area and [enemy] made the experience marginally better, I'm still not convinced. This doesn't
"feel" like a Resi Evil game - it's more of a wannabe copycat of other, superior BODY HORROR games like Outlast, or Condemned. Based upon this teaser, I'd be very surprised to see RE7 hit a Metacritic 85.

Is it too late to backpedal? Since trying out the demo for a second time, and subsequently finding out that the teaser is actually NOT a part of the main game, I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. Not to mention I now have a window of opportunity to insert
a *new* game into my daily schedule - so I guess the planets have aligned and I'll be joining the early adopters! I know it's (kinda) hedging my bets, but when I earlier questioned the game's staying power on Metacritic, I've now reconsidered the 'All-Time
Highest Ratings' for Xbox One:

Given that the next highest rated game is Fallout 4 [88], it's not unreasonable to assume that *if* Resi Evil 7 is as compelling as the premise and its current word-of-mouth suggests, it might just sneak into the Top 10! As a day one buyer, I'm certainly
be hoping that I've backed a winner! If not, you'll surely hear about it here.

Keep up the click baits Goth. I get a crack when it annoys Bluswirl. 1080p 60fps isnt amazing for high end gamers. You can get like 120fps or 240fps with PC games. Minecraft is 1080p 60fps on Xbox 1. This week i got digitally plants vs zobies garden warfare
2 and i play the flower character and the frame rate and graphics i find is good.

Halo 4 on xbox 360 is 720p native which is great since most games on xbox 360 are sub HD native then upscaled to HD. And xbox 360 only has 512mb RAM so congrats to microsoft.

Reviews are starting to come in! Typically, the PlayStation version's getting the most attention (don't know why, if they're *both* running @ 1080p60 - both should be equivalent to each other), but it's only been a couple of hours since the review embargo
lifted. As it stands, a Metacritic 86 [PS4] means that my earlier prediction for an Xbox 85 will probably be within reach. Oh well, it's still a good score!

 

I hope I like it too! Unfortunately, **** postal service didn't deliver on time and I've had to delay jumping in with all the other day oners. But I did swing by Metacritic, and the Xbox One version has actually OUTRATED THE COMPETITION! Whoa! First time

Ain't nobody PLAYING THIS? Metacritic 86 for both Xbox and PlayStation! Unquestionably GAME OF THE MONTH for January 2017! Despite my earlier comments / reservations, I'm seriously wondering whether Outlast 2 can match this - it's a masterclass in "body
horror". It's a slow burn on the highway to ****, it's #Resident Evil writ large and in a BLOODY handprint. It's about taking point while the point man (Ethan) is subsumed by the things he didn't see coming (case in point: Eveline - seriously, is this Alma
Wade's missing LinkedIn?). Thanks to my preorder bonus, I could've played this in "Madhouse" mode from the off. BUT NOPE. Boss fights can take a flying leap... this game don't take no prisoners! I'm captivated by its every waking momentum! It's #ShudderVille@1080p

I wouldn't give a who.eee about this MetaCritic. Play this game if it makes you feel happy. But 1080p 60fps really isn't ALL that amazing, unless you don't have a high end gaming PC which can do more fps with better textures. K some people may not be able
to tell the difference but younger people who have an eye for detail me say otherwise. I have to say Plants vs Zombies 2 and Kinect Sports Rivals and Forza Horizon 3 and Halo MCC look amazing too on Xbox 1. Minecraft on Xbox 1 IS 1080p 60fps native. And Halo
4 on Xbox 360 is 720p native which is great considering how weak Xbox 360 hardware is. I use to have Quantum Break. After a week of trying it, I traded it in. It has nice visuals, but wasn't really into the themes of the game. Especially that 75GB cutscene
DLC so you can watch the cutscenes even offline, rather than streaming the cutscenes, since the game and cutscenes are too big to fit onto Microsoft approved Xbox 1 Blu-ray game discs.

 

Sounds like you're having a blast Bluswirl, I'll be firing it up soon. I've watched a few reviews and it looks so awesome.

@Smileskybird, why do you insist on pooping on everyone's parade? If people like it at 1080p and 60fps let 'em. Thats top of the line for a CONSOLE. No need to always say that's nothing compared to a PC. I think every gamer knows that.

I have a nice 2016 Hyundai and I love it. It doesn't compare to a BMW, but it's still awesome. I know there are better cars out there. When I showed people they said "nice car" not "that's nothing compared to a Lamborghini that can go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds".

 

Correction: You USED TO have Quantum Break. I've berated you before on niggly things like this, and the least you might do is take notice of an "older" person who takes the time to reply to your posts (and has even upvoted you), not to mention having played
Quantum Break to completion (earning 100% of achievements). I didn't have a problem with streaming those cutscenes, and whether or not there is room enough on a BD media disc isn't exactly relevant as there was an option for me to download the interactive
stuff (ie, cutscenes) instead of streaming it, as the entire game - cutscenes included - would've resided on my hard drive.

However, once I'm done with a game I generally uninstall it, unless I plan on returning later for future DLC (case in point: there's more coming for RE7 so I shall leave it installed), or otherwise want to revisit it or mop up achievements etc (eg, Halo:
MCC, Forza Horizon 3).
