New preorder system question.....

i know that we can now preorder stuff from the store from our xboxs and not be charged until up to ten days before release.If I have Microsoft credit in my account, will it automatically take it out of that before trying to take it off my card?

Because I plan on getting over $160 in credit and just leave it there for Gears of War 4 (can't wait to see how it will look with my new One S and HDR ), and the deluxe edition of Infinite Warfare, and I don't want it to try and charge my card if I already
have money on my Xbox account......

I think i found my new S system. just gonna cancel my Gears 4 preorder and get this. fuck to the yes.

 

When you go to the payment screen, there should be an option to use your Microsoft credit. I haven't tried preorders yet, but when I try and buy stuff and have some credit on my account Im able to apply that and pay the remainder with my card. I'm assuming
it will work the same way I hope.

I don't have my xbox nearby, so I can't try it, but if there's no option to pay with MS credit, you might just have to use a normal credit/debit card. Hopefully, someone else has a little more info than I do.

 

I already know this, but thanks. I don't have any credit on my account right this moment so I couldn't choose that option at the time of preorder, I'm trying to find out if I put the credit on the account anytime before they try to charge if it will take
out of my Microsoft credit first (since I'll be putting the money in the account with the Xbox cards) before it tries to take it out of my card or Paypal account......

 

If you're paying using only money in your Microsoft account balance, it will charge the full amount from your balance when you confirm the preorder. This website explains how the different payment options will work with the new system -

Well with the new preorder system I can preorder a game right now and not pay for it until about 10 days before release.I have a card on file as well and my paypal account, what I'm trying to figure out is if I put money on my Xbox account using the Xbox
cards, will it try to take it out of that before it tries my credit card or Paypal account?

 

It would be based on whatever payment method you choose when you preorder the game. So if you were to choose a credit card, it will charge that card about 10 days before the game becomes available even if you have credit on your account.
