    New owner with setup/connection issues


    So...I've been a pretty loyal xbox fan but, I'm thinking that this might be the last console I buy from Microsoft. I got the game system for my hotel room and I expected that I wouldn't be getting much online gaming done while I'm here but, I didn't know
    that in order for you to even play single player, offline...well you can't do that with the xbox one, it seems. In order to use a machine that I just spent 480.00 dollars on, I have to perform updates right off the bat.

    So, the problem is the wireless connection for my room shows up on the screen but the system doesn't let me connect when I'm attempting to do the initial set up. I thought it might be something to do with the hotel connection but, when I went in to Gamestop
    to trouble shoot it, a guy was calling in with the exact same problem and another was returning his newly purchased xbox one. I'm going to try another day to fix this issue but, after that, I'm just trading this thing in for a PS4. Anyone got any pointers
    or ideas?

    Cannot connect to specific friend

    Im sorry to hear your having problems attemping to play online with your friends. Would you by chance be able to get your specific friends setup as well? your setup seems fine if your not having any other issues with your own connection.

    Also are you able to connect together to another friend? I.E. you join friend. other friend your having issues with joins him as well?

    Hi,

    Its it just EA's madden? EA are quite notorious for having issues with their own servers, it wouldn't surprise me if the issue is with EA.

    If "hard to please NAT games" like Call of Duty and Gears work fine online I'd say your own setup it fine. I take it when you run an Xbox live connection test it doesn't complain about NAT?

    Most hotels have firewalls in place. You would need to speak with them to get the console connected properly.

    Did they connect your console to their network, to try and update the system?

    Regarding your hotel's Wi-Fi network, do you need to authenticate with username/password, using your computer, to be able to access your hotel's Wi-Fi network and the Internet-at-large?

    Hi all. Thanks for your help. To close the loop in that one in case other Panasonic owners are facing the same issue:

    I was able to activate HDR on my TV finally after playing around some more with my TV's settings. Apparently it's not enough to set HDMI HDR Setting to On. You must also change the HDMI Auto Setting in Setup to "Mode 2" (default is Mode 1). So to recap:

    HDMI HDR Setting (on the HDMI port the Xbox is connected) - Set to "On"

    HDMI Auto Setup (on the HDMI port the Xbox is connected) - Set to "Mode 2"

    HDCP Setting - set to "Auto"

    Hope that proves helpful to any other Panny owners out there.

    My console has a problem in the wireless network hardware

    Simply click on setup new wireless network and back out, it should resolve the issue as well connected back to the default WI-FI network.
