Ah k well that was never going to happen considering it was originally going to be PC only. I think Zenimax have missed their chance now though because I see Destiny taking most of the crowd who would of been into a console mmo.

I remember that on "old" RPG,when a NPC gives you a quest and you have to find everything by yourself.....No arrow to show you the way,no map shown if you haven't explored an area previously,no fast travel....."Real" exploration and epicness....

Now,with "fast food" RPG,you can do 20 quests a day.

Would be nice to allow us to disable some of these features....

  3. Like I said before the launch of X1, were are living in the forget everything within a few months era now. Game too hard...? put it down and forget about it, Publisher goes Down.

So to keep they're doors open they simplify the game so people don't put it down... But months and months later you realize you've been duped because your realizing your burning through these titles too fast and forgetting about them cause you beat them
    too quick.

Mario days are over. I don't see a future where games are played for years on end like the old days.

I wouldn't consider Theif or NFS Rivals open world games. NFS a bit more, but still it's just a bunch of crossing roads with very little to do....not very open when all you can do is drive.

To fix your open world gaming depression - buy Watchdogs and play the online part.

  5. ICN3D They were both hailed as open world and watchdogs was fun for a fortnight but seems so repetitive once you hit max level, and I could really get behind that optional mmo guidance I miss the days of thinking im a genius for completing a single quest

Ubisoft are good at making open world games but they are also good at leaving you hanging for more. Think that's why they are such a successful business.

Agreed with ICN3D, Watch_Dogs is the way to go for your open world fix. Graphics are awesome (forgetting the downgrade). Campaign is really decent where it kept me coming back, it does get boring very quickly after you complete everything... however the
multiplayer can still be be fun - tailing / hacking gave me many hours of messing around.

I havn't played it in weeks, you do lose interest, still worth a buy IMO.

I think that is just how Ubisoft does it. Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, & Far Cry are all like that. You unlock things like the ctOS towers in Watch Dogs and it shows you the region with all of the crap in that region.

    Not only Ubisoft,Bethesda,too....

After Morrowind, they started to make it easy for gamers,in explorations but also in RPG stuffs....

As i said,i would be nice to let us choose the way we want to play, with options.

Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding! I wonder what it would be like with out the map 'cheat'. I could see it being more interesting, but much more frustrating. People would have to go back to strategy guides/youtube to find everything and get all the achievements.

^^ That is a huge reason why.

Do these worlds feel empty because all the side quests and loot are marked on the map from the get go? It is very simplified for casual gamers.

There is no need to 'explore' because you already know where everything is.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign I found Watch Dogs the worst for feeling 'empty'. I just had no incentive to explore. Outside the campaign everything you do becomes quickly repetitive. The hacking gets boring very as you get the same phone conversations,
texts etc. You can only hack a small amount of things that are the same across the map. This game has certainly NOT lived up to the hype that surrounded it. Not even close.
