    New Microsoft Xbox headsets mic is to sensitive


    Suggestion for Microsoft about their great new headset. The Mic is so sensitive. It’s a fantastic headset all around. I would love to have a option to control how much my mic picks up. That would make this perfect. If you know a way to turn the mic sensitivity down please share. For the record I’m not talking about sidetone/mic monitor. This mic can be so sensitive I feel like I’m in a ASMR video. For the record I love everything else about it. I own a pair and so does a friend and our group now complains about it. I don’t know how simple of a fix it would be however my suggestion is a toggle in the system that allows us to change the sensitivity just like in windows.

    Headset audio leak through headset mics, only on Xbox.

    Microphone sensitivity is set in the AUDIO tab. After pressing the Xbox button on the sprocket. Of course you need to have a connected headset.
    I don't know of any microphone sensitivity settings on Xbox even with a headset connected. The only things I have ever had are mic on / off, volume, chat / game balance and mic monitoring. People have complained Xbox needs a mic sensitivity setting forever,
    so I'm not sure if this is accurate?

    Echo no matter what I do

    Try to lower the volume of the headset. Some headsets dont keep the sound around your ears per say and with sensitive mics the mic will pick it up. Lmk if it works good luck!

    As of now there isn't an option with the Xbox to change the mic sensitivity. Higher end headsets have great noise reduction and won't pick up things going on in the room around you. Are you using the Xbox headset that comes with the console?

    Problems with microphone on Xbox One

    I have experienced this myself.

    Many of the newer headsets are not compatible with the original xbox controller headset jack. I tried several headsets before discovering this issue.

    Static usually means it is not getting a good connection due to the headset jack not connecting completely.

    It should work if you buy a xbox headset adapter.

    You may also try powering off the controller. Plug in the headset. Once it shows the headset is connected. Press the xbox button on the controller and scroll to the audio settings. Make sure the the slider for the mic is turned to the on position. Also try
    adjusting the mic and headset control volumes and mic sensitivity in this menu.
