    when you creat a account on the console at the end it will ask you what kind of mebership you want, select upgrade latter and if this console has done this les than 3 times you should be offered a one month free trial.

    Hi. On this website it says that new members get one month free of xbox live gold. How do i redeem this?

    First, make sure any external hard drives are unplugged. Turn the console off and unplug it for at least 5 minutes. Plug it back in and let it sit on the green screen for at least 20 minutes before you do anything. If that doesn't work, you will likely have
    to use the
    Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool     to do a factory reset. If it comes to that, you will have to reinstall all games and apps on your internal hard drive, but your save games should be safely stored in the cloud.

    Are you part of the preview program? If so, make sure you report this in the preview forums, in case the preview team needs further information.

    If you created the account on the console then you get a free period gold status. If you created an account on the website then it will not be gold. There is no way to retrospective that.
