New live gold subscription not working

I know that when upgrading to gamepass ultimate (gamepass and xbox live gold in one) it works out the value of your current remaining subscription and converts it into time on the new subscription. I believe it works the other way, if you manage your
subscription and change it to just gold. You might wanna check first

My understanding of how this works is that if you have an active Ultimate subscription then if you purchase Live, it will convert (or at least it used to, that may be a limited time event). If your subscription has run out and you purchase Gold, then you
are only getting Gold. You'd need to purchase a new Ultimate subscription.

The $1 Xbox Live Gold offer was only made available to new subscriptions from members on Silver Xbox Live subscriptions for the first month only. After the first month, the subscription will renew at the regular price of Xbox Live Gold.

Xbox Live Gold subscriptions after the first month are not free and also need to be payed for at the regular retail price. If you want to keep your Xbox Live Gold subscription, you will need to pay for it at the full regular retail price.

I have done that and it does work until i turn off the system for the night and when i play the following day i still get the message on my xbox 360 dashboard that my gold is running out. Is Xbox Live Gold servers ending for the
360?

Ah, gotcha. If you had a previous Xbox Live Gold subscription still active and ongoing when you entered your new three months of Xbox Live Gold, you may still see the notification that your Gold subscription is ending soon regarding
that older subscription. Once that older subscription runs out, your new subscription should effectively take place.

If you sign into your Microsoft/Xbox account and check your Xbox Live subscription info on the
Services & Subscriptions page you can verify your Xbox Live subscription time and make sure you're good to go.

• Prepaid codes for Xbox Live Gold trial subscriptions are only available in select games and bundles.
• You can’t access Games with Gold for the Xbox 360 with this type of Xbox Live Gold trial subscription.
• You can’t stack prepaid codes for Xbox Live Gold trial subscriptions from games or console bundles. This means that you can’t start another trial period before your current trial period has finished. However, you can purchase a new paid Xbox Live Gold subscription
  and start the subscription at any time during the trial period.
• If you don’t currently have a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription, there is no limit to the number of times you can use this type of Xbox Live Gold trial subscription.
