New internet provider and now I get Spike Lags, and Disconnected from games/server

I recently switched to Charter Internet from Verizon DSL and for the most part I really enjoy Charter so far except when it comes to playing games online. They gave me a **** TM822 modem with it as well as a Netgear router, my Xbox On is connected wirelessly.
I constantly receive lag spikes on all the games I play, on Fifa 15 and NHL 15 i get lag spikes as well as disconnected from the game and receive a loss. Now on FIFA i play co-op seasons with my friend and i always get disconnected from him, even when we party
chat we can hear each other for a little bit and then all of a sudden it goes dead. When we play minecraft on the xbox one sometimes he'll get kicked from my game at random times. At first I thought it was the router so i port forwarded on that and it didnt
work, so I hooked up my old router to see if it made a difference, and nope. So i finally hardwired the modem to the xbox and it was doing the same things. So I'm guessing its the modem that my issue needs to be resolved with. I would really appreciate someones

Xbox 360 lagging out of certain games

My xbox 360 slim has been lagging out of games recently i can't play destiny (Caterpillar and Hawk errors),World of Tanks (i just spontaneously lag out). also when i lag out of those games i get disconnected from xbox live 2-3 minutes after i lag out of
the game i tested my connection during this and i get a Xbox Live Connection error. but if i turn off my xbox and turn it back on and it's fine. i can play battlefield 4 just fine i'll get small lag spikes occasionally but nothing serious. i've reset my router,
cleared cache 3 times, deleted my profile and re-downloaded it. and changed my router all together. this also started about 2-3 weeks ago my Internet Service Provider is Cox Communications my friend also has Cox and sometimes we will both get disconnected
at the exact same time we live in the same city By the way. sorry for the long post really need help.

Random lag spikes and disconnects.

Hey i need some help figuring all this out. recently i have been getting disconnected and getting huge lag spikes in every game i play it started in madden 13 i would only be able to finish a the first quarter and then get disconnected.

my setup is my Motorolla surfboard the IOS.1 or something the old one, and a linksys WRT54G2. nothing wireless all wired.

Well i started to get huge lag spikes in Halo reach where i would go into blue screen for about 30 seconds and spawn dead, sometimes the lag spikes would lead me to disconnect from the game. I was still connected to XBL though and everything my modem still
had all the lights on everything seems fine i just get a lag spike.

I called my ISP and no problems there they said no packet loss, i have also ran CMD and no packet loss, i direct connected to my modem which seemed to fix the problem for 2 days then tonight while playing halo 4 i started getting the same lag while i was
direct connected? Soooo now im stumped, i thought it was my router at first since the direct connecting worked but it doesnt now?? please someone help.

If xou connect directly to your modem and it has those Problems so ask your ISP. They could Monitor your connection and see why you get disconnected.

If you are allowed to do Firmware upgrades then upgrade the Firmware of the Modem and test again.

After the patch I had some lag but now I get the disconnect from EA server after 10 min of play. Haven't been able to finish a game yet. I've downloaded no new content other then the required patch.

Not personally, but it's obvious from these forums that it's a widespread problem. People with really good connections are suffering from server problems and lag spikes.

if its set on moderate you dont get connected to everyone, you get disconnected from games, booted from the servers and lag etc. i want it on open

I've moved across the country since getting this game. I hardly experienced any lag at all w/ my internet connection in Maine. When I started playing again in Idaho, it was nothing but lag. Then I called my internet provider and doubled my internet speed
and now I only experience occasional lag. For me, lag was more about my internet provider than the "game being broken."

Lag is no excuse anyhow. I played one game that was choppy and the lag didn't stop me from getting an angry voice message, "F***ing hack much there buddy. Why don't you stop f***ing hacking, little f****t" lol
