    new headset won't work


    We got our son a new headset with mic and it won't work on our xbox one s. They work when plugged into his ipad. The headset/mic won't work when plugged into either of his two controllers. The mic symbol is crossed out indicating mute has been activated
    somewhere but not in any of the places I can find. Help!

    Hi there,

    What headset do you have? Most headsets have the mute button on an adapter or on the headset itself. Make sure the mute option on the headset is not switched on. Also, pull up your Xbox Guide Menu and scroll to the right to the System Tab where you normally
    go to the Settings. Under Settings you should see an option listed as "Audio", select that and make sure the Microphone is switched on and the volume settings are set high.

    Go ahead and also hard reset and power cycle your Xbox to give it a complete system reboot. Here is a complete rundown of how to physically power cycle the Xbox:

    That doesn't work. A gamestop employee told me the X12 won't work on new controllers because it's analog and it only works with digital or something... does anyone know, if I buy the (overpriced) headset xbox one headset adapter will it work then?
