New headset with adaptor mic not working

Hi. My son has a new headset with mic. It's all connected, with the headset showing on top right of screen. He can hear his friends but nobody can hear him. I've gone through reset still nothing. It's not muted and volume is up. We have an adaptor. Do I
have to assign a profile to the adaptor?

His profile accepts voice communication.

I'm really hoping MadCatz is going to be working on a mic adaptorfor their WarHead headsets because I've only heard the adaptors werefor wired 1s. I'm thinknig maybe they should make 1 so an adaptor plugs into the headset jack,
then the mic into the adaptor so it can at least function as it would normally with the headset and base station or however that works.

If your Xbox one Controller doesn't work or gets disconnected after you plug in your Stereo Headset Adapter, unplug your adapter,
and then update your controller without the adapter. After the controller is updated, insert your Stereo Headset Adapter back into the controller.

Hi Leonidis84. I know that some gamers are using a set-up where they are using their gaming headsets as usual and have the MS headset just wrapped around their neck so that the mic is near their mouth (obviously with the adaptor plugged in to the controller).
They tell me that it works fine. The new adaptors are scheduled for release within a couple of months.

My stereo headset adaptor just arrived today. Trying to figure out how the mic works with apple earbuds and/or my SOL Republic headphone mic.

Change the cable round going from the adaptor to the headset.

Try again, take out the adaptor and put it back in

try again, turn off the headset

try again

If none of that works, you need to find out if the issue is the adapter, the cable, or the headset.

(you can't even test them on the 360 to find out if the mics working)
