New headset not working

Hi

im using a new headset with an x box one and i cant get it to connect. The controller was working fine, snd the headset works on my other x box but wont connect to this one. Any ideas? Also i cant click on the volume button in settings to see if its an issue
there. In the top right of my screen there is a mute icon but no headset icon. What do i do? Been on to microsoft for over 30mins and their advice is go back to factory settings but im not convinved.

BOught a stereo headset as well as a new controller. wouldn't you know- the old headset works fine with the new controller and the new headset doesn't work with old controller.

Problem- DEAD controller headset port.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

If that doesn't work try it with a different controller on that console.

my mic on my xbox one headset is not working ,i a new headset still not working..........come on fix it MS!

dont know buddy dont use bluebooth or wireless headsets, try going back into the shop where you got it from and the will give you a new one, and if the new one not working buy a new headset wired its the best to go buy if you want a bluetooth headset go
with the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Headset Headset - Over-the-ear my mate has had one and his works all ok,

Their is no mute button, either the two headsets don't work or the port where the mic plugs into on the controller doesn't work anymore, you can either try the headsets with another controller or buy a new headset.
