New hardware revisions of XB1/PS4 coming soon?

Maybe not wise to read too much into this source but this would likely be extremely bad news for early adopters if true and would end of fragmenting the user-base of the Xbox/PS, although on the other hand it'd put them in contention for reaching higher
performance/resolutions.

Normally I'd call BS but Nintendo did just this recently with the new 3DS and we're already seeing new 3DS 'exclusives' like the Xenoblade port which will not run on old 3DSs.

Anyway, I thought I'd post this not with the intention of kindling flame wars but because I know some of us are looking at these next-gen consoles and this might be a reason to just hold off a little bit... at least until the above is verified or discredited.

Users may experience continuous NAT errors with Hardware Revision 1 with the newest Netgear Genie firmware. Downgrading to a previous smart wizard version of the firmware is suggested. However, Hardware Revision 2,3 and 4 work fine with the latest firmware.

 

Xbox Live signup process 10 years ago, anyone remember?

Yep, with a new revision dash coming out for each game.

 

There are 10 million PS4 consoles already sold and 5million xboxones. No company alienates that many customers. There were many hardware revisions of the xbox360 and Playstation 3 but a day one xbox360/PS3 will still play the latest new games.

Reducing the size of the consoles to a "slim" form reduces manufacturing and component costs but does not change performance specifications.

 

The Xbox 360 had like 7 different CPU/GPU revisions after releasing.

I doubt it's like the New 3DS where they are releasing a more powerful version with exclusive software.

 

Yeah it will be a slimmer console due to the downsize of the chip thats all

 

If this is what you do without XBox ONE I'm so glad i got mine on Day 1.
