New Hard Drive slows down my xbox slim 4gb??

Recently I bought a new 250gb HD for my xbox slim 4gb because I needed more space. When I have the hard drive in it slows down my xbox A LOT. Dashboard dosnt load for 2 minutes, its nearly impossible to navigate through game menus because its so slow,
It takes 20 times as much time to transfer memory and to download anything. BUT, it only does that when its connected to xbox live. If i'm offline BOOM, everything is smooth. Or if I removie my 250HD and sign into xbox live it works just fine!?!? Any ideas
because I've looked everywhere and tried everything. I've cleared my cache, re-formated my 250HD and my 4gb's.

20GB, 60GB and 120GB Hard Drives for Slim

hiya i have had a 120gb hard drive in my xbox slim for over a year never let me down works perfect so 120gb hard drives will work in the slim ?????????????

 

Xbox 360 Slim Hard Drive, is it possible to use my hard drive in a new Xbox 360 Slim?

So I got an Xbox 360 Slim with 320 gb hard drive, im thinking of buying a new Xbox 360 slim because mine sounds like its gonna break.

My question is: Is it possible to use my old 320 gb SLIM hard drive in my new SLIM console?

 

I'm having this problem too, I think it may be the Hard drive, because I waited almost 2 weeks for a new Xbox, and it still acted up. So maybe, you may need a new Hard drive. That's all I know.
