New gamertag system

I'm getting ready to change my gamertag and i'm sitting at the "Here's what your gamertag will look like" screen. I want to know how exactly my gamertag with appear in games and stuff.

The "Xbox one console and Xbox apps" name has a number suffix at the end in a different text color and size than my GT.

The "Xbox games that don't support the new gamertag system* and all Xbox 360 experiences" gamertag doesn't have a suffix.

Will games like Halo infinite show a suffix? And if the suffix shows, how does it display? Is it the same text size and color as my gamertag, or will it be a different color and a smaller text size?

Previously, both of my gamertags here had a suffix. The bottom GT suffix was the same text size and color, and the suffix showed up in Halo Infinite.

If anyone could give screenshot proof of the suffix showing/not showing, that would help (like a screen shot in the profile screen, and a screenshot in game). Since I have to pay $10 to make this change, I don't want to mess this up.

There isn't a way to hide those numbers, Sorry if someone told you different. Having the same gamertag as someone else would cause problems that is why the number system is there to stop false reports ect. It's for security and safety reasons that's why
the new # number system was in place.

Unfortunately there really isn't a way around the 12 character rule.

I HATE the new Gamertag system, im considering moving to PS4, why can't we keep 15 character gamertags? This is beyond dumb, Microsoft, fix this, ASAP.

Right but youre missing the point. If I type in a 9 character name and you give me a 4 digit suffix that equals 13 thereby loopholing the character cap.

So what's the point of this character cap if the tags displayed in-game are higher than the cap.

Here's an example. My original tag was Cutthroat2113. Cant have it because its 13 characters. So I entered Cutthroat. It automatically said #8884 and in-game (which is the only thing that matters) Cutthroat8884. That's still 13 characters.

And if you're further implying I can enter a 12 character word thats already taken in which this system will attach 4 automatic numbers than that's 16 characters, 1 more than the old system. Whats the point of this cap?

You can't avoid the logic here. It simply doesn't make any sense.

I dont like that you can take someone else's gamertag just by adding a number. That's stupid.

The only change they should have made is taking away the fee to change it. You already pay for their service.

Xbox is the only platform in the world that charges you to change your screen name. Its absolutely ridiculous.
