New gamertag not showing?

1. Sometimes a simple reboot can help refresh the system and show the updated gamertag. Try turning off your Xbox completely, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

2. Sign out of your Xbox account and then sign back in. This can help sync your account information and prompt the system to update the gamertag.

3. Make sure your Xbox is connected to the Internet and has a stable connection. A poor or intermittent connection may cause delays in updating your account information.

4. It may take a while for the new gamertag to propagate across all Xbox services. Give it some time and check back after a few hours to see if the new gamertag appears.

Never mind, it changed literally seconds after I posted this 🤣

You actually show as having a classic gamertag and a new gamertag. So some areas will still show the old gamertag (classic gamertag).

Also, the new gamertag that is showing on the xbox one, is it brand new, or is it showing your old (correct) gamerscore?

It depends on if the game is already capable of supporting the "new" Gamertag format.

Xbox changed the Gamertag system a few months ago, to allow multiple people to have the "same" Gamertag, similar to names on Discord or Battle.net, by adding a number to it.

Newer games, that already support the new Gamertag format, will only show your new name, without the #number to your friends.

Older games, that do not support the new Gamertag format, will show your old Gamertag for a while.
