but free is free, if they all came out day one and you had to pay for them then we'd have this thread except in a reverse fashion, i dont want to pay for a gamer pic etc etc

There not that bad but then i dont care to much i either use the owl or the cat on the fence, even used the giant monster in the forest and the one in the city, i think they're ok and fit the purpose, i only ever paid for the fallout ones and i'd never buy
any again, there's having cash to burn and then there's buying gamerpics lol

 

I don't know guys, theres a fair few that I like but there are some pretty bad ones in the mix too. They need to host some more competitions (hopefully on these forums if I had it my way) and let users create some for them. The best selected ones get put
up.

 

I must be creative with your avatar pic, try making it on the 360 or xbox.com

There you can emote your props while taking a picture.

My picture at least here is from me emoting my prop, unfortunately you cant see the giant sword i am holding.

 

The gamer pics on the X1 are cool but about half of them if not a little more sucks IMO...would like to see some of the gamer pics that were on the 360 like scarface, DC/Marvel, NFL/NBA team gamer pics...maybe some car brands too.

 

I know you guys are going to flip but they just need to copy the PS4 system for avatars(gamerpics). You can link to your Facebook and use your profile pic or for people like me who don't mess with Facebook you can use the PS app and use any picture you want.

It's the same system as with the Vision cam on the Xbox 360 where you have to be friends and you have to accept there name request to see the picture but I have lots of fun with my pictures.

 

The camera idea that they had on the Xbox 360 had pros and cons, just like everything else. It was cool because you could use virtually anything you wanted, but that was also part of the problem - people would often post unsavory things that violated the
CoC and ToU, which makes it a much more difficult job for the enforcement team. Also, the quality of the images were also terrible, particularly where resolution was concerned. In addition, copyright issues may get involved if certain images are used. Size
of the image could also potentially be a problem. For example, I have an image of the surface of Mars that's well over 30mb in size - I'm sure that would add to the latency in some form or another. Personally, I think it's too much trouble to add, which is
probably why they haven't. Sure, it's kind of a bummer, but it's also not the end of the world either...

 

@GG I have not hit any kind of file size limit on the custom pictures and I have uploaded some high quality pics so I don't think it's a issue. And yes you would find my gamer pic unsavory lol.

Why some people would not want this is beyond me it's basically unlimited free gamerpics of anything and everything. You can use Google image or snap photos from your phone. Its fun and social.

And as far as enforcment goes so what the console has parental controls and you pick your friends so it's not a big deal. If you find something that bad just delete the person or don't accept there name request which dosn't need to be your real name for
privacy.

 

I never once saw anything "unsavory" in anyone's gamerpic on the 360. And several of my friends used the vision cam for gamerpics. And honestly, how many times on Facebook or Twitter do you see a profile pic of someone's junk? Never? Yeah, me either.

Not to mention, you could have the option to block user created content. On top of that, before uploading a personal pic, you would be shown a disclaimer saying that any inappropriate content will result in a permanent console ban. Who among you is willing
to flush $500 down the toilet for some giggles? No one? Yeah, didn't think so.

To even suggest that this could not/should not happen because of the potential of what could happen, is Peter Griffin level stupidity. There is the potential of someone shooting me in the face every time I leave my house. But that doesn't stop me from going
to work every day. And as far as "difficulty for the enforcement team", that's their job. They aren't spending their personal time policing Xbox Live out of the kindness of their hearts. They're being paid. If they have more work to do, boo frickin hoo.

I would glady pay for something I enjoy looking at then having the free ones. When you have something you're happy with you don't have to change as I've had my current one for 3 or 4 years....

 

What happened to the personalized gamerpics we could make with the 360 camera?? Was gutted mine didn't carry over.
