New features

Don't get me wrong, i love my Xbox one.

What does frustrate me though, is the omitted features from its predecessor and then slowly bringing them back over time. What grinds my teeth even further is the fact Nelson and a lot of other [Mod removed] go on about these features as revolutionary, such
as voice messages that have been around on the 360 for years.

So can someone explain to me why why Xbox are bringing in old features instead of new ones?

This isn't meant to sound negative, i am just a little confused

I do like doing the Statue Ninja defuses and Reverse Ninja least it keeps mw3 fun at times

Nobody really knows for sure, but if I were to take a stab at it, I'd say it's because either a) the console released earlier than expected thanks to the push from the competition, b) they had to make hasty changes to the console due to the dismay of the
public at their original plans, which slowed things down, or c) both A and B.

 

As long as i can play games,really don't care about new features (or old ones).

Also,there are new features on Xbox one not only old ones....digital pre-order/download,TV stuffs,dedi servers for party chat and games,snap,voice command,stand by mode,Upload (and all the things that come with it),....

 

My guess is xbox one came out a year to early or a really good marketing hold a few features back and give monthly updates to make it look like its always improving

 

I never thought about that cheesy. This could have been their plan all along to make it seem like "Ehrmeged, Xbox One is getting better every month! I'm so happy with my purchase. Forget the PS4!" But ofc, that's just a fanboy talking. Anyway, I thought
it was because the One was completely new software so all those old features have to be built from the ground up? I honestly don't know. I got my One in August and haven't really had any complaints about the system except for One(lol, get it?) Nah, bad joke.

I am in belief and agreeance with GG.

I do believe, it came down to a few things. 1.) The console was still in the later stages of the developmental stages while working on a fantastic launch game library. When the competition decided to put pressure on Xbox One after the E3 2013 backlash.

2.) They then had to back track on several issues the public freaked out about.

I don't even think it is disputable.

That is why I believe that the Xbox One is releasing features that the predecessor already had.

 

What new features do you guys want?

New features are what got Microsoft in the position they are in now. They gave the public a console they didn't want.

They didn't want the Kinect so now it's not being supported by games yet it's still sucking resources from the system. The "all in one" also flopped. Anyone who has the money to buy a luxury item like a console probably has numerous devices that do all the
multimedia things better.

People keep giving MS an out because of the public backlash regarding the locking down of our game purchases to our accounts yet that was already built into the 360 and is still featured on the One. That change did nothing to the OS or design of the One.
That was all business side related with publishers/developers, third party retailers, etc and wasn't a set back in the development process.

The One needs to be a gaming device to play the games console gamers want to play.....period. Give us the ability to chat, group, message to play those games and we have all we need.

 

Pretty sure if Xbox one was built like a only gaming console,the public would ask for more. (just for the pleasure to complain)..more TV,more streaming,more apps,more musics,more movies,more Kinect,more Windows 10,......

I didn't ask for anything,maybe use 20%-30% of Xbox one/Xbox live ,and doesn't bother me to have 70% of useless stuffs.

Same can be said to my TV screen,just to play Xbox one games.Don't use it to watch TV broadcast,not to take a look at family pictures from a USB key,not connected to internet,i don't even use the sound on it (got a AVR)....

A TV with just an on/off switch and one HDMI connector is enough,for me.

 

Well, they went with the name 360, and One for a reason. Some say it was to beat Sony to the market. But I'm not buying that. But that's a subject for another day.

When you want consumers to reconize your console for being an 'all in one' system, then you have to cater to other things besides gaming.

My 360 has took over for most all my electronics. Umm... wonder if the 360/X1/P4 could do VON and do a kinda Magic Jack styled, 10 dollar a year, unlimited calling worldwide, home phone/fax services as well? Cool. Remember now. It was my idea!

^ Glad ya got a laugh out of it, but even heads of state still use fax machines. Especially when needing John Hancok's on documents in a hurry.

It does that. I like the other stuff. Sure we have devices that do other things around the house yet some of us don't usually do it for all of the TV's we own, All the extra stuff is something I didn't have on my second TV in my second lounge room. Bluray,
Device with Netflix and other catchup TV apps, Skype on my TV, snapping live TV.

Personally, I think that the Xbox One was supposed to be released in the Fall of 2015, but Microsoft got caught off guard and had to respond quickly. Hence, a lot of things that were on the Xbox 360 are slowly being added to the Xbox One.
