New FEATURE to add. Mouse support.

Hello,

My xbox One is setup in my office on it's own computer desk. I LOVE internet explorer on this plateform. The only thing that's missing is the ability to use a MOUSE on the browser. I would LOVE to use my wired or a wireless mouse with the One. It would complete
my internet explorer experience.



What say you?

To clarify, are you playing from an Xbox One console? Mouse/keyboard support for gaming is not currently a feature of the console, I'm afraid.

Pls microsoft/Xbox , add mouse and keyboard support on xbox one

or at least. work on input delay for adapters

and. sensitivity problems

pls fixe so that u can unable mouse and keyboard PC. feel for adapters in your xbox setting or just add mouse and keyboard support. just pls half of the xbox community are using mouse and keyboard on a adapter ,so pls do whatever you need to do to
make that pc feel for adapters or just add mouse and keyboard support

 

It would be good so long as the Xbox distinguishes it from a controller and doesn't allow it to be used for gaming. I agree. Try posting this in the feedback section.

 

Well my opinion is they should make a better browser before the add mouse support.

 

The browser works fine. I've been able to login to my iCloud and gmail account to check for email. I've even been able to listen to pandora and Google play music on the browser. It's AWESOME!

 

Oh I forgot. I can Facebook and TWITTER!

 

Why not be allowed to use it for gaming? Give developers the tools to bring different genres to the console that in the past haven't worked well with the controller.

FPS hit detection windows in console games are designed for the controller so no advantage to mouse users. Games like RTS's would have an advantage but I'm guessing people that can afford 60 dollar games and a 500 dollar console can afford a 40 dollar wireless
kb/m combo.

 

If we get keyboard and mouse features for gaming, we might swell just go out and buy PCs. Pretty much defeating the object of a console there which is a a simple, plug and play unit for the living room with a specialised controller.

I can understand why people may like mouse support for the browser but a lot of people have PCs/laptops that they'd rather use. If it's something that's easy to add then by all means do it but there are much more burning issues that need to be addressed
first.

 

Keyboards and mice are plug and play. It's just another controller option just like wheels or even the Kinect. The more options the better.

 

They're plug and play but the support would have to be added to let the console interpret it in to controller motions and the games would have to be developed with it in mind. I'd rather just see keyboard/mouse left to PC and controllers primarily sticking
to consoles (yes, I'm aware many can be used on PC).

 

That limitation will also limit the types of game genres we'll see on the console. Point'n'Click adventure games are making a huge comeback on the PC and work much better with a mouse. That genre would attract the casual crowd that isn't into twitch gaming.

RTS's are another genre that benefits from mouse support.

More game genres attract more gamers. We don't want the One to become a niche gaming device for shooters and button mashers.

 

So... if you're not into Twitch, you're a casual gamer? lol Funniest thing I've read today. Twitch is totally hard core. I may laugh myself to death... lol

I think I'm missing the funny part. There are plenty of people coming over from the Facebook games and other browser games that have no desire to ever play any of the twitch based games either because of age, never used a controller or just don't like the
genres.

"Casual" may be offensive to some of them because there are plenty of Bejeweled players that game 40 hrs a week but when I use the term people generally know who I'm talking about and the genres they play.

 

The smartglass app controller is good for IE.
